I need some mount options. I just ordered the Rago this morning and I am completely lost at what mount/arm I should get for my phone. The 67d stuff looks great but it’s pricey.
What other phone mount options for the Rago are out there? I just want to mount my phone and if the magnetic ones work good, that would be my first choice.

    thanks in advance!

Just put mine in. Waiting on 67d to arrive tomorrow to finish it up. I added some socket head cap screws to the top to see how it would look with the holes filled. Not sure if I like it though.

Good call on the 67D. I would have not wasted my time and money on the RAM had I known it would end up being trash.

I ordered the 67d arm for Ram mounts by accident so I sent that back and have the correct one coming for the 67d magnetic mount. It seems really strong so I’m hoping my phone will stay put. If it doesn’t, I’ll order the cell holder they sell when they come back in stock.

Has anyone with the Rago dash plate experienced vibration? My dash has a very subtle vibration that I never noticed until I attached a medium length RAM arm and my phone to the plate. I mounted the ball to the second row of threaded holes from the edge of the dash. I've also tried using a short arm and it only mildly reduces the shaking. It shakes at speeds over 20MPH and is almost unbearable to look at for anything. I haven't read of anyone complaining about this. Is there something that can be done to help reduce the vibration of the dash mount or plate itself?

Do you have a reinforcing plate on the underside of the dash?

The plate adds lots of structural rigidity and you'll get less flexing. I have the ICS with the reinforcing plate and I get no dash flex. The only shaking I get is from the shitty RAM ball. You will need to make one or buy the ICS and modify it to fit the Rago. The spot these things screw down on is pretty thin.

I did use some extra large fender washers on the underside to help distribute the load, but I may have to look into the ICS underside plate.

What size arm are you using and what mounting location are you using? Here is a not so great picture of my mount locations. (Sorry, it's all I had on hand.)

Oops. I didn't notice that you were the OP. Looks like we're using the same mounting locations and arm size. The only difference is my arms are horizontal. Maybe I'll try a more vertical position like yours.

I’ve had good luck with my 67 Designs arm. Very little vibration with the medium length arm and the Magmount G2 holding my iPhone XS Max

I also purchased the ICS backing plate but didn’t install it. It looked like it would need new holes drilled in it and I didn’t have any drill bits on hand that would have drilled through metal that thick.....so I skipped for now. If I ever put an iPad on the Rago dash plate I’d consider it.

I just put wider washers when I mounted my plate. No vibration. I run a GoPro and iPad mini on mine.

Ordered mine...getting a Galaxy Tab A mount with a Ram Mount. I've used Ram Mounts on my boat and they're not horrible but you do need to replace the balls every once in a while. They don't do UV and heat well.

Figured this would be a good winter job. I have a Dash pad/phone cradle but the phone overheats if I leave it there while traveling. This will solve that and give me a big screen for maps without a radio swap.

I have the ICS with the underdash support plate. It is rock solid.

I just received my Rago dash mount , I also ordered the ICS plate to mount on the underside for stability, I will have to drill some holes . Hopefully I can install it right so no vibrations down the road

    Lots of shenanigans.
I also use the ICS with the plate underneath it. Love it so far.

Harbor freight $4. Mild steel is pretty easy to drill through.

I installed the Rago Fabrication Dash Plate with the ICS backing plate. Solid and always getting compliments.
First, I positioned the loosely assembled bracket on the dash, marked the holes with a center punch, and drilled the holes in the dash. Next, I positioned the backing plate under the dash and marked it through the holes that I drilled in the dash. I used my HF drill press to drill the holes in the backing plate. I felt that the provided screws were a bit short, so I replaced them with 1/4"-20x1" button head screws and 1/4" flat black washers from Lowes. One of the two provided 1/4"-20x3/4" flat head countersunk screws to mount the plate to the bracket was dicked-up, so I found an exact replacement at Lowes.
I added a Ram Mounts X-grip large phone mount with diamond base RAM-B-102-UN10U that I modified with a CHOETECH wireless charger epoxied to it (before they released a wireless charging mount). It wasn't quite where I wanted it so I added a short double socket arm RAM-B-201U-A and a double ball adapter RAM-B-230U. That combo was too long and wobbly (arm, not plate). I swapped the medium arm with another short arm and that did the trick. I used the medium arm with the power plate RAP-300-1U to mount my Uniden. 10-24x3/4 socket head cap screws from Lowes were used to mount the diamond ball bases RAM-B-238U.20200101_181135.jpg 20200101_181347.jpg 20200101_183151.jpg 20200101_183235.jpg 20200101_185253.jpg 20200101_185311.jpg 20201116_155613.jpg 20201116_170149.jpg

Really LOVE these Rago Fabrication Dash Plates. I just picked up a 2021 Tundra and am wondering if anyone has heard if these plates fit on them. All of these install pics look GREAT! Good job all!

Congrats on the new rig. I haven't heard if they do or not. Does your dash have the same recess? The major change I heard of is the infotainment center. Installation/removal procedures will be slightly different. As long as you have clearance under the dash, I don't see why it wouldn't work. But definitely look into it first. Rago Fabrication lists it for 2014-2019. ICS Fab lists theirs for 2014-2020. Call them first. Good luck.

Yep. The recess is the same. My previous truck was a 2014 Tundra and it’s identical. Was just wondering if anything was different under the dash. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and get it. I’ll be able to make it work.

I checked online parts catalogs. Part number 55301-0C050-C0 is the same dash from 2014 through 2020. I'm sure 2021 is the same. They just haven't updated the catalogs yet. In everything I've seen, Toyota made no changes from 2020 to 2021. The only thing they did was release a "Nightshade" edition, "Trail" edition, "Lunar Rock" TRD Pro color, and TRD Pro in Double Cab. 2022 will be the major change.
AK49 (post #13) installed a Rago in his 2020. Dragracer_Art (post #19) installed an ICS in his 2020. I'm pretty sure that the Rago and ICS dash plates will still work in the 2021. It's just so new, no one has updated catalogs or verified fitment. Still, I would give them a call to verify before you go drilling holes in your brand new dash.

Here are a few pics from my install today. I have the Rago base mount supported by the ICS plate. Needed to drill new holes for Rago to pair to ICS, and added a few more for overall stabilization, a total of 6 bolts with fender washers and locking nuts. I used the longer hardware reccomendations from TSands83 (thank you) and the mount is super secure and made the install alot easier! On the Rago top plate I used RAM mounts. Wireless phone charger (b size) and tablet mount (C size). I utlized the Rago supplied mounting hardware for the install, but may change to the black hardware in the future... Truthfully, the most labor intensive task was skillfully running the charging cables behind the dash! This mount is the real deal, very impressed with quality and detail. There is a little vibration on the tablet mount when driving due to the near horizontal position. I will likely move the diamond mount closer to the front of the plate and utilize a short arm to remedy this issue.
