Just ordered my set

For starters, what everyone here says about Keith and Dirty Deeds is 100% accurate. Top notch service, a great guy to talk to and a wealth of information. A tremendous asset to this community.

My poor truck has been down on power for a little bit and then the CFL comes on every now and then regarding fuel to rich in multiple banks, then goes away for a few days. I ordered all 4 02 sensors and the DD injectors, this should fix this problem.

 

Once I have another paycheck roll in I'll be inquiring Keith about a set for my V6.

Glad to see another positive review. I have been browsing, and reading about them for some time. I have NEVER seen or heard anything bad about dirty deeds, Keith, or their products.

 

Next on the list is a quality catch can that doesn't cost $200. I highly recommend this to every member here

 

Is your pcv getting jammed up? Why the catch can?

 

The pcv cannot stop oil and contaminants from entering your intake system. Fuel injector cleaner usually helps with these deposits but I believe our engine is direct injected (I may be wrong) so fuel will not spray over the valves. Take a look at your throttle body, it's got gunk and so does the injectors. Catch can brother, problem solved

I've pulled my throttle body off before for a "deep" cleaning, the intake behind it was pretty clean. I don't think our motors push enough blow by to need a can, but every motor is different.

On my turbo car I do run a catch can, I just pull it off for smog check every 2 years. VW 1.8T motors are hot running sludge factories.

 

Those VW's and Audi turbo motors love oil

 

Mine easily evaporates a quart of Liqui Moly every oil change.

 

4.7 is not direct injection. Sprays gas onto the intake valves. Still gets dirty though here is mine at 153k. Oil change every 5k since new.

 

I would be interested in an economical oil catch option if anybody has done one....

 

You should consider ordering a new MAF Sensor from Hitachi, too. Also, grab an o2 Threader from Lisle to clean out the gunkies on the front O2’s threads. Might need 4 need bolts for the rear o2 Sensors, as well. My truck MPG is much better since doing all new Sensors last month.

 

I have the Jet maf and aem dry filter. I didn't think of the bolts, gonna look that up now

 

I picked this up. I don't know if it's actually a mishimoto but most of these lower prices units are made exactly the same by a few chinese companies and this 1 has the charcoal filter

 

Had to cut mine off with Precision Slot Type Technique. Used a Punch to ease into the slot and tapped it with a hammer. They went finger loose after that except for one which needed prying off.

 

I just installed a complete set of the Dirty Deeds fuel injectors in my 03 Tundra. I bought the truck in February with 95,000 miles, but the truck sat for a long time with very little use. These new injectors are Denso, 12 hole injectors vs the Toyota Denso 4 hole injector. I noticed that immediately after start up with these new injectors, there is a very slight hesitation, then it smooths off, and the engine idles beautifully. I never noticed that slight hesitation was there with the original injectors, but it may have been. But the ruck runs/idels so much smother now. Definitely worth the cost. Next is the o2 sensors.

 

Installed the injectors, all 4 02 sensors, oil catch can, carrier bearing and a u joint.
Been driving around for about 50 miles to get the cpu to settle in.
Idle is smoother, truck just is smoother all around. Moving around parking lots requires less pedal force and she just does this low rev stuff with out any hesitation or hiccups.
I think the most noticeable difference is how smooth the engine accelerates and operated.

Oh and yes, she has picked up some of the power which it has been lost through the years and maybe a few extra in the higher revs. From the last few 05-06 trucks I have driven, I can say it has been a worthwhile upgrade.
Would I do it again?
Yes. Trucks just has a bit more civility and smoother power delivery.

 

I’m gonna say changing your all 4 of o2 Sensors are a big part in this equation. The 12 holes made a change for the better in my instance as well, but the o2 Sensor Replace is huge and often overlooked. Doing both in your case is a Compound Nirvana. Stoked for you.

 

I agree completely. I wanted to do the install seperate from each other but time is limited and projects are piling up. So far the Dr still has me scheduled for Monday surgery so I need to get done.

I think she needs an LSD

 

Oh and I removed the coolant lines from the throttle body

Which sensors did ou get. Do you happen to have part numbers. Seems like maybe due on my 2003 tundra with 100K on it.

 

I ordered two of each sensor from Denso on Big Gurrl. The Special Socket for o2 is 7/8” I believe. The Thread Chaser is a cheap and excellent way to clean up the crustiness. You’ll need 4 new nuts for the Rear Sensors. Check my Build Page 6 for pics.

The MAF Sensor is from Hitachi on Big Gurrl. All parts are Made in USA. Truck is in Prime Optimized Power right now.

 

May look into replacing the Maf, because its original, and investigating my O2 sensors again.

From what I can find on the Google my MAF is a denso part. Strange.

 

Could very well be on the V6. Found this on Big Gurrl. Fits Taco 3.4L. Check it out.

 

I'll go out, and compare this to what's installed.

Not sure what else I can change without getting expensive in a hurry to get rid of the generic P0420 code.

Both 02 sensors are approximately a year-ish old.
Maf is OEM, and will be changed out.
Injectors are OEM, and will be changed out.

Other than the cats I can't think of anything else that would cause that code.

While I was under the hood investigating the MAF I tightened up my throttle cable, and my cruise cable.

Throttle cable had roughly ½-¾" of play.
Cruise cable was worse. I'm hoping that the unadjusted cable was all it needs to keep it from jumping around in RPMS during cruisin

 

Thats a lot of play. Can’t hurt what you did.

 

My guesstimate may be off. Haven't had my coffee yet. either way it was enough play to make a difference in throttle response.

Will not be using cruise during these pissy, rainy, wet conditions.
