Sorry brother, I didn't realize that was for me. Let me take some photos for you tomorrow if you need more.

    My thoughts so far:

Well made - great welds and excellent powder coating.

Lightweight - most of it appears to be aluminum, but feels incredibly sturdy. I have a ruggedized three person tent on top with an awning. That's about 200-220lbs I would guess with the pillows, sheets, and Denver memory foam mattress.

Capacity- And then on top of that I have six rotopax mounts with two tool quick-fists on the bottom. I feel pretty confident it'll hold up. The side also serves as a convenient place to mount my dual band HAM antenna. (The one in the photo is the whip I use temporarily due to the stupid assigned carports.)

Customer Support - I have never been more pleased. The same guy (Max) always answers the phone and email, they will make you bespoke parts if required should their standards parts not fit. One of the best experiences ever.

Now I need to sack up and just drill the damn holes.

FWIW I'll try to snag some before and after go-pro of the bed. Not really sure that will help show, prove anything but someone, somewhere, someday might want to see a before and after.

    Have any questions for us?

These are certainly a great addition if you're running a camper shell, bed rack, or just putting the truck through serious off-road use.

Thanks for asking. It's great you are here and making great products for us. I guess I am just not sure if I need to do this mod. I just don't know if it's necessary and also they are not cheap for what they are.

I definitely think they are necessary on the Tacoma but the bed on my 2020 Tundra feels rock solid. I wonder if something was changed from previous years cuz I don't get a lot of bed shake or movement.

I will be putting a bed rack on it and a 180 pound roof top tent on the rack. Part of me says just wait and see if anything happens. Another says be proactive and prevent damage. But what if that damage never comes and I wasted the money. I have only seen one damaged tundra bed and no real details how it happened. So again, just don't know what to do here about this mod.
    Thanks.

I have slight cracking from a bed rack and RTT, I'm too late to the party to help prevent that lol

Any recommendations for rust prevention with the holes being drilled?

@TOTAL CHAOS any words of wisdom?

I just used rustoleum spray paint, drilled the holes, sprayed the area let it dry ,and assembled the bracket, also I sprayed both side.

Just as user @Ely010606 mentioned, a spritz of paint or other non rusting agent will do the trick

It's going to be up to each individual to make that choice. Obviously as you said it's almost a necessity at this point with the Tacoma but clearly the Tundra doesn't have the same issue. With the kind of weight you could be adding and the amount of money it costs for the additions you are putting in your truck, does the piece of mind out weigh the cost of the braces? It would be a one and done cost however as these braces don't require maintenance and will outlast the life of your vehicle. A lot of people just like having the extra mounting points as well as the piece of mind of having the extra support. Ultimately it's your build and we want you to be happy with it whatever route you decide to go with the braces!

Again, greatly appreciate your input and you are right about the peace of mind. I guess it's a good time to ask, any sales coming up? Thanks.

That’s good you asked, I ordered mine from SDHQ, and a couple weeks ago and Total Chaos had a 20% sale . Hopefully its still going on for you.
Peace of mind is worth the price IMHO.

No sales going on right now and none that I know of coming up. They have been selling like hot cakes for months so I wouldn't expect a sale anytime soon.

Install failed of my @TOTAL CHAOS stiffeners. Sigh. Was only able to get one side done.

When I bought the truck I had the dealership do a bedliner. A while later I noticed the one bed bolt was loose. Not thinking much about it, I asked the dealer to tighten it. Didn’t give it a second thought.

Turn out the bed nut was stripped and the just put a second bolt on under it to tighten it up. Without it, the bed bolt just spins and never tightens. With the stiffener in place, the bed bolt isn’t long enough for the second nut to hold it down. I either need a longer bed bolt or I have to cut off the factory bed nut and replace it somehow.

Anyone else ever had this issue? Any create ideas?

I’m have the truck going in for unrelated service at the dealer. I’m going to see if they are willing to properly fix the initial problem.

In the meantime, the one side I did looks pretty.

I haven't had this issue, but when I took my truck to the LineX dealer to have the bed sprayed he told me he could remove the bolts or spray over the bolts for the same price. He recommended spraying over the bolts because he said every now and then on the Tundra bed bolts they get stripped going back in. I wasn't sure if that was a pitch to do it quicker and be lazy, but I opted to spray over the bolts. Good luck with your fix.

Thanks. Hopefully the dealer can just tap the nut and replace bolt.

    Sorry that happened.
    There are a few options:

You can try to get the dealership to tap it or you could do it yourself if you have the tools and feel comfortable doing so.
You can remove the tail light to get the nut, cut it off, and just replace the nut with a new one. you can spot weld it if you want to do that as well.

Hopefully you can get it fixed quick and move on to the next project soon!

I'm going to go the dealership route first. I don't have the right tools anymore. From your experience, does a new tap usually work?
