For what it's worth I have also been a dealer for the past 10-11 years. Have been using the stuff in everything since I could drive. I haven't had any issues yet. Like the previous dealer I'm not much of a sales person. I bought the dealership to get things at cost and extend that to family and friends. If anyone is interested at getting it at cost let me know.

List of things I use Amsoil in...
    • 2007 Jeep GC Lifted (Sold 175,000) - Everywhere but Trans
    • 2005 Jeep GC 192,000 - Everywhere but Trans
    • HF Perdator 3500 watt generator - Oil and P.I. Treatment
    • Generac 8000E generator - Oil and P.I. Treatment
    • 2017 Tundra 34,000 - Oil, Oil Filter, Diffs, (Soon) Transmission, Undercoat with Heavy Duty Metal Protector
    • 2016 Polaris Ranger - Oil, Oil Filter, and Diffs

Shell Rotella Gas Truck beat Mobil 1 in every category. Think they have yet to test it against Amsoil though.

No experience with Amsoil. Know guys who swear by it but never tried it. I've always ran Mobil 1 in all my vehicles. Figure if it's good enough to come from the factory in new Vettes than it works for what I drive.

Just changed my oil today. Got the sample ready to ship off in the morning. Ill start my own thread with the results. 9022 miles on the oil, got some long trips coming up so I couldnt let it go the full 10k without going over.

Where I work the fleet gets yearly oil changes with bulk bid conventional oil and the cheapest filter available. Our 2001 F-150 has 293,00 miles on it, only thing changed motor wise was the water pump and intake manifold only because a guy blew a radiator hose and drove it 6 miles on the highway to get it back here. High tech, expensive synthetic oil may make you "feel" better, but I bet for the most part the engine doesn't give to hoots !

    Newb question.

Why do some Tundra owners run 5W-30 instead of 0W-20?

Because they think they know more than the engineers who designed the motor.
