What would you pay for used Struts and Springs?

I have my used Struts (6k miles on them, replaced in Dec '19) and springs (177K). I cant post them for sale on here till next month, so i was going to try on ebay or CL first and wanted to ask others what you would pay. doesnt look like im getting anywhere close to what i paid, which is expected, but figured id ask.

 

Stock replacements? Maybe $50

What are they? Bilstein? At 177K miles I wouldn't pay you anything. It would cost a fortune for you to ship them so you'd need a local buyer. You might find someone that wants to remove the spring and and place them on a new strut but that's about it.

 

I think the rule is a 50 post minimum so he should be fine.

 

they are already separated, so if i should just toss the springs, ill do that. They are just paper weights at this point i guess.

No I'm saying the spring might be the only part worth anything. I wouldn't buy the strut. We have a lot of people that have removed their original springs and put them on new 5100 strut's.

 

i have pics, but didnt want to post incase the mods think im trying to slide one by and sell them....but you guys know better than i do.

Oh my mistake. I see now that your struts only have 6K miles on them. I completely missed that part. Again, what are they?

I would not buy used springs and struts.

 

I think there is a market for the springs in the Tacoma world. I recall them liking the 4wd ones, it provides them lift with near factory ride.

I rescind the $50, I thought they were assembled.

Honestly throw them up on FB marketplace for $100/set and see if anybody shoots you an offer. Shipping would be a killer considering you can get brand new KYB/Monroe shocks for about $50/each or the assembled "quick strut" for $75/each.

 

Do the springs have paint marks on them? They really don’t look bad at all.

Yes they do...im wondering if i got new springs also when i had it replaced..it was a shitty time for me work wise and i was just paying to keep the truck running...didnt ask too many questions. like an idiot.

i attached the bill, are these 2 line items struts and springs?

Those are the shocks and the upper mounts on the invoice.

I presume you have springs on your truck now? Then you have these. So... doesn't that mean the springs were replaced?

BTW: where are you located? It's not in your info.

 

I had my front struts replaced back in December but my springs looked shinny and new. So I wasn’t sure if Toyota replaced them as well.

yea I put an OME lift on the front with new springs.

I’m in Cumming GA. Need to update that.

 

I have someone on Facebook asking if these would work for a 2000 Tundra 4x4...can anyone help with that??

 

Springs may lift the front end up a little higher but they'll fit.
