circuit breaker still hasn’t shown up but, i needed the truck this morning to pick up some 4x8 OSB sheets. so, last night i reconnected everything except the inverter wiring. decided to run a little test while i cut down the wood.

system is currently charging odyssey batteries under the hood since the solar battery is full. 20 min ago i turned on the fridge. starting temp for both fridge and freezer were about 60. fridge is set to 37 and the freezer is set to 19.

    57C2D209-C782-447A-BC65-D6348EDE36AA.jpg

battery monitor shows 170Ah and 100% with 14.2v.

    2955A06C-9590-4CA6-8D82-072A9774F7FF.jpg

tailgate is open but the truck is sitting in full sun in the driveway. going to let the fridge run all afternoon and see how things do.

    fridge ran all night long.

    DEAD98E0-DF91-4065-8D26-A481FB95EE8D.jpg

not bad for a dometic cfx95 that is empty. the solar battery needs to drop to 12.7v before the system will switch the charging from the odyssey batteries. so, the fridge continues to run.

I went down the rabbit hole with solar today. Learned a ton. Having read a bunch I fell confident that I could wire up my own solar set up. Thanks for all the advice. I think I'm going to build my own aux battery box so it's portable.

Looking forward to the progress of your build.

I bet dealership see you coming from a mile away thinking they can push some $$ service..lol....last time I went to a dealership they were trying to sell me all kind of stuff because of my 295/70 tires...
now I just go to small independent Toyota shop. same mechanic every time and the guy is a Toyota fan.

i've been going to them because of toyotacare but this is the last interval that's covered. a few things popped up for the 40k interval as i skipped the 35. i'll be going elsewhere from here on out for things that i can't take care of myself.

everyone there totally geeks out over the truck though.

I went to a shop in Littleton that I really liked and they came through in a pinch (literally pinched my brake line). Hartmans garage. The guy was supposedly a Toyota master tech.

i'll still stick with the ebc pads and rotors. no complaints. they've been used. lots of mountain driving, pavement and dirt. i just don't want to have to replace rotors right now.

i'll probably go with rci since they're local.

i'll check it out. getting over to littleton is a bit of a haul for me though. i've used jesse at atlr a few times when i had the fj. he's great but he's out in golden. would love to find someone closer to the house.

Just did mine, thank God they were able to turn the rotors. Just replacing stock pads was wayyyyy more expensive than I thought it should be...
