    Hi, Everybody.

It's my Friday. Super stoked. Gonna be trying to get the wheels and tires mounted tomorrow, if I can get it scheduled around life events. That's the good news.

The not so good news, that I am hoping somebody here can help put my mind at ease, is that I have a friend with some serious back problems that are requiring surgery. He's family to me, and has 2 herniated discs that physical therapy haven't been able to help. He goes in for surgery on the 13th, and I want to be as positive and uplifting for him as I can. Has anyone been through anything similar to what he is going to be doing, or know anyone that has? Any tips on how best to be supportive? I'm just terrible at this kind of stuff.

I can't recall for sure but I believe my uncle had something similar in his neck/ upper back. If I recall correctly, he lived in pain for a lot of years and it was the surgery that finally made him pain free.

Sorry, I know that's probably not that helpful but I hope everything goes well with your friend's surgery. :fingerscrossed:

Appreciate you chiming in, as I'm not real familiar with back surgery. Anything helps. I hope it goes as well for him as it did your uncle. Do you remember anything about his mobility or after care? Just wanting to see what I am willing and able to do to help him out. His wife and kids will take good care of him, but I imagine I'll try to be down there for his surgery, because his other family isn't real reliable or supportive.

No, I don't remember much about it. We only see that part of the family a couple times a year and tend to talk about other things when we get together.

Gotta sign and date stuff, and the tester has to prep things. It's about 15 minutes start to finish for a total of 1 breath and a 60 ml sample. Funny thing is that I get tagged for the rando's pretty regularly because my name is in the pool of participants for the company, and then also in the separate pool for CDL holders. X number of employees have to be tested every month and Y number of CDL employees have to be tested every month. Even though my job doesn't involve my CDL anymore, I still get that second chance to enter the Dixie Cup Challenge because of it.

That's an easy one, getting C5 to C6 fusion was the best thing I've ever done for myself. You can pass that on to him.

Thank you. Good to know. I don't know if they are fusing anything or not. What was your recovery like? Length of time until you felt "normal" again?

Recovery was a bitch. Three months with a neck brace. It was about a year before I got full range of motion back. But for those three months I was on vicodin, valium and beer. I don't remember a lot about it. My wife said I watched Dogma everyday for a couple of weeks, each day like it was the first time.

Is it strictly speed related, or RPMs?

@Jsena Also, is the whole truck shaking, or is it just in the steering wheel? Will it shake at 55 on all roads? I thought I had issues in a previous vehicle until I changed my route, and the shaking went away once I wasn't hitting my problem speed on the shitty concrete road.
