While driving our tundra it made a loud bang and the engine died. Would not restart. Towed it home. We thought it was the fuel so replaced the pump. No start. The obdII scanner we borrowed could not communicate with the ecu, and vsc /cel lights on. After checking fuses and relays we disconnected the secondary air switch valves and it started, but CEL and VCS lights still on. Now the code scanner read P2442 BANK 1, (driver side??) so we replaced the driver side secondary air valve which we had done a year ago but the check engine light and vsc light remained on. Drove it a short distance and it went into limp mode. We then replaced the passenger side secondary air switch valve, drove a short distance and again into limp mode. The scanner then read P0415. Before we could look up the P0415 code the CEL and VSC lights went out. Drove it and again, went into limp mode. Now the scanner reads P2432. Hubby is now ready to set it on fire! Any ideas?

bypassing it may be the easiest solution while trying to troubleshooting it in an emissions strict environment / state.

My suggestion is get the Gen 2 bypass kit. If you erase your codes and they come back , chances are your pressure sensor is shot to. I was dealing with this while out of town with work. Annoying for sure. Installed bypass kit, snd pressure sensor, and no limp mode or any more codes. Here's there trouble code list. Hope this helps. Also their customer service is great over at Hewitt.
