if you have a scan tool you can see what the transmission PRNDL switch is seeing when you shift it..

But no, all long bed 2nd/3rd gens are completley horrendous.

And no, you're not some "basic tech". You are the tech we all hope we get IF we take our truck to the stealership. You are the tech that cares. You are the tech that pays attention to detail. Your are the tech who knows what the fuck youre talking about. And above all, you are the tech with the sexy voice.

theres a slim chance its a solenoid issue to.. but honestly when its a weird shifting into a gear problem on an older car up here, its cable related.

With all yous Taco / Tundra cross talk while I was at work, thought I'd post pics of them.
Taco is 2002, Tundra 2003. Taco is 208k, Tundra is 211K.

That yellow strap is purely cosmetics / redundancy. Everything was all sorts of cross strapped from tie-downs to tie-downs.

I'd love to have a 1st gen tacoma. My dad had one right before he bought this tundra. A 4wd, rcsb, 5spd tacoma. He pulled lawn mowing equipment with it daily and I'm kinda sad its gone.

Thank you much. I will count on you in the future among others here who have spoken up. I have tried to be as in-depth as possible with all repairs to bring you all along for the journey, and to help people who may not know what something looks like, or how to do something.

Others have mentioned this same thing. I will have to keep this in mind at all times.

I COMPLETELY understand exactly what you mean regarding all the self-doubt, and the small things becoming overwhelming. The brain takes the little things, and runs with them for me. There are many times in public settings that I will only speak when spoken to, to be seen, not heard. I potentially say something incredibly dumb, and then that moment will play on a loop for at least a week in my head. Constantly repeating.

In the "old days" of high school I had a 120 foot tree that had fallen down in the yard. I used that tree as my "frustration tree." I cut that tree into 1 foot sections by hand with an axe. I started on Monday, and was finished by Friday night. I was VERY VERY angry at everything.

Except for with mom, talking has been out of the question. With "friends," I was always listening, and offering advice. I was never getting a chance to speak about me. I assumed this was normal for much longer than I should have.

Lately, I have viewed each job as a "What if I don't coat the frame enough?"
    What if this...
    What if that...

I am SO happy that you, and your family have started in on this journey that I will begin soon with mine. Modeling it after your younger sister, and always keeping you all in mind.
I will see about an audio book version as well so I can listen. For me, sometimes it is more powerful to hear the words rather to read them. Other times, it is more powerful to read, and highlight within the paper bound knowledge accordingly.

ADD/ADHD can in fact devastate you. There have been times in which I have been completely shattered emotionally, but kept right on plugging along because "thats what you do."

I will look into Brene Brown.

Thank you, I will try to see my worth/strength more often than not. It is very hard for me to see through the cloud of negativity 99% of the time.

I have noticed that with older family members. Maybe that explains why they are grouchy all the time. 20200619_003902.jpg
I have seen a lot for my 22 years of age, and according to my chiropractor my 45 year old back. Many traumatizing things have occurred. One example from my life is my ex-gf. Abusive relationship, constantly berating me, and attempting to hit me. I walked in on her, and her 1st cousin going at it, and my mind was so twisted up by her that I stayed for another 5 months with her.

I'm positive that pops suffers as well. We can't even convince him to go the the heart doctor for a check up. (His heart only works at 43% capacity due to massive heart attack in the 90's. Its like he doesn't care anymore. I have noticed the same toxic trait in myself today during my nature reflection time.) It definitely does not sound fun to me either.

    Agreed.

Due to my brain I have always had trouble with silence. I usually run a box fan along with ceiling fan, but someone came into my room and took my box fan. I seem to have no personal property.

Ear plugs were on my toolbox, but were moved the day before I needed them. I used noise canceling earbuds with no music playing because it was better than nothing.
I inquired to the whereabouts of my plugs, and the reply received was "iunno they ain't mine."

    Fred,
Thank you for the kind words about me.

The advice, and kind words given by many of the members here are without doubt some of the best I have ever seen.

You are correct about many kids my age, or even in the age group. The Gen Z group is heavily messed up due to the "innernat."

There is a lot to manage here, and it seems that my plate here will only continue to grow.

On my way out to be on my own in the country side, mom called me. In short, she explained that the local medical center we go to called her saying that they (mom/pop) were 3 months behind on payments. She was assured by pops that he had been in fact been paying them, but he could not find any documentation of payment since early March. There are other various bills that are apparently past due. My gut says to help pay them. My brain says to let pops lay in the bed he made.

Regarding the business that I have a small dream about, I think it must be put on hold for now. I'm not sure what my goals should be. I have considered buying a house, and moving away.

Things are constantly changing here, and there must be some steady hand guiding the brothers. I am not sure what would be best. It feels as though things here are unraveling, and are deteriorating at an excessively rapid rate.
Speaking of the little chapel on the hill, I was in the parking lot on my phone reading this thread, and the pastor happened to drive by.

He stopped, and we had a conversation. I asked if it was alright that I used the parking lot to play on my phone, and he said "Yes, as long as you aren't using our wifi."

We continued our discussion into the JC section, and he invited me to attend to see if I would like it. I explained that one day I would take him up on his offer, that I had not been to a "chapel" in many years, and that I did not want to be a bother.

He explained that I would in fact be no bother, and that it was what the place was there for.

Perhaps you are right. Maybe there will be a little southern belle who is just sweet as can be waiting just for me. That will not be my reason for attending, but it will be a welcome surprise if so.

I will not speak for him, but I always enjoyed the usage of them.

Nearest Grainger to me is in Evansville, Indiana.
    Next closest is Nashville, Tennessee.

Both are a good hike away. I will order these when I can. Thank you for attaching links.

Awesome Chapel Stories! Per your parents, I’d suggest helping them with advice only per their bills. Legally, no medical service can be denied to them even if they owe/behind in payment. This should take mucho stress off you.

Even if their payment is partially paid each month its good faith effort. Payments can even be renegotiated down. Do not pay their Medical bills from your account. That will come back and bite you legally. Just give your parents cash money if they need and let them make the payment. Do nothing in your name except for you. Same advice applies for your brother. There are lots of State funding programs for guys like him so they can stay with you at home and ease some financial burdens if there are any.

You are basically becoming the man of the house at an early age having to make difficult decisions. The better prepared you become now will help some upcoming decisions. I’ll help you as much as possible with advice.

I would LOVE to get one of those. My wife keeps saying she wants one but we have too many cars as it is. If I ever sell one of my cars I'll either get that or a Suzuki Samurai.

Yes, good stories. I was aware that no medical services can be denied legally. There are other more pertinent bills that are now late.
    :annoyed:

Ah, I see. I was aware of the good faith effort system, but was not aware of "renegotiatíon." Yes, regarding the bills I think I will simply ask mom which are late, when things are due, and what the amount is. Give her the moolah, and let her handle it.
Not very many financial burdens caused by either brother. Both seem to stay to themselves, and in their respective dungeons. They only seem to come out of the dungeon when in search of nourishment/refreshment, or when nature calls.
I wish I could convince either one to let me teach them how to drive.

Reflecting back... I suppose I always was. Everyone here comes to me to have something fixed, or mended. They come to me for advice because I will talk to them like they are an adult. Instead of being snappy, and speaking to us like we are 4 years old. o_O

    Thank you much Fred. :hattip:
