So yeah, my uncle doesn't fuck around. He really does have a helo pad on his dock. I love coming here for vacation. That's it on top. The stairs lead up to it.

I'm aware, it's not real rawhide, it's a vegetable version. Thanks for the heads up though.

 

Been thinking about my bed re-installation issue.

First off, I can't seem to find the torque specs for the the bed bolts.
I definitely do not want to tighten them up via impact because at work I have broken welds with the mid-torque milwaukee impact. I have the High torque..
That would be a CATASTROPHIC event that I could not easily remedy here by myself.

I think this bed bolt location (blue) will be the WORST one to re-install.

I think there are brake lines on the inside of the frame at this location. Because of how the bed is made I am not sure I will be able to get a wrench in there to tighten my new nylock nuts onto bed bolt.

I had thought about drilling a ⅜"inch hole in the bottom of the frame to allow for an extension to go through, and socket attached to extension once through. I don't think this will work because of the top of the frame.

Here is a side profile shot of particular location.


The only thing I can think of right now is to cut down a wrench to fit inside the bed, and still have enough length on it to reach in this cavity.

What is the "think tank" thinking?

Like I said earlier, the hard part is done. Hitch is on, but lockwashers would not fit using the heavy duty washers I made. I will get longer bolts tomorrow, and remedy this.

 

The v22 osprey is actually built and tested in my hometown of amarillo. The town of mediocrity.

I'd get a vacation from Tundras if I posted my thoughts about the Turdeau and universal healthcare. I'm already pissy enough these days and need my Tundras fix to keep me sane.

 

Regarding bed bolt torques, did some googling.

All I found was 2nd gen info listed at 62 ft. lbs.

Is this the general ball park?

 

Going to post this here because I do not have many friends, and don't have anyone to talk to about it. I might be going crazy, or something legitimate is happening to me.

The last three nights in a row, as I lay in bed, and close my eyes I could hear sounds. Only when my eyes were closed, and upon opening my eyes the sounds would stop.

The first night it was simply just atypical "white noise." I thought nothing of this.

The second night was slightly louder atypical "white noise" mixed with a semblance of whispers I couldn't quite make out. I was concerned, but some how went to sleep.

The third night as I closed my eyes I heard what could only be described as loud yelling/ringing. The volume of which seemed to be directly connected to how much my eyes were closed. Closed more, volume increased. This frightened me quite a bit, but my sleep medication finally knocked me out.

Tonight, there is no noise, and somehow that concerns me much more than all other nights combined. I think I need to reach out to a therapist, or psychologist...

After typing all this out, and re-reading it, I can see how crazy it must sound to you all.

 

A few notes.
It saddens me that you don’t have anyone to sit face to face with to discuss this with. Are you scared they would just write you off and laugh or can you really not even confide in your brother? Parents?

The mind can play awful tricks on the body. If you’re having issues sleeping over this I would definitely be seen for an appointment. Not sure if it’s something entirely new or an ongoing issue but I’m sure work, music you listen to and movies you watch can be triggers for you as well as any illicit drugs, history of anxiety and/or panic attacks.

In the end I would say to overreact and get help because without being able to sleep our health, daily behavior, and general lifestyle can degrade rapidly.

 

Stress from the Wuflu Pandemic is wearing on people. Peoples jobs have been put on hold and not having future stability can greatly affect their sleep/etc. Sleep drugs are not good. I’d recommend exercise and losing weight. Also, all those fumes from painting and the grinder wheel noises may be playing a big factor in the ‘voices in your head’ @Tundra2

 

This is a good thought. I haven't had time to watch your videos and being young and stupid myself I always played fast and loose with safety.

I know they're difficult to find at the moment but a half face respirator and some organic vapor cartridges are a good thing to have along with the usual ear protection and some good safety glasses.

Hell the glasses from Grainger are cheap enough I've got pairs of clear and tinted scattered all around. My wife tells because I've got about 4 pairs on the kitchen counter typically and she called me old when we went to a concert last year and I wore ear plugs.

Glad to hear. I also do raw diet but i only ever put a pinch spinach or dry oats once every few days. My dog has a tough time digesting any veggies

 

@Tundra2 Like the others said, pandemic stresses from lack of work, lack of social interactions, a support network that expresses themselves in a questionable manner, the grinder noise, the paint fumes, the grinder noise!, the self imposed urgency to get the job done for a 'possible' work start date, the what if the job doesn't start & the truck is done - what do I do stress, ....

You've got a hella lotta stressors & those are just a few of them.

A mental health professional won't fix (or break) you, but they can guide you to understanding your situation & help you see the healthy path forward. Probably not a popular resource in many southern circles, but there are a lot of southern traditions you would like to get past.

Go. have a get to meet you. Find someone you like, who's only interest is your health.
There may even be some free options through the county Covid-19 response programs.

Put you first. Go.
