For the record, I'm disappointed that the moderators and KTJO couldn't come to an alignment as a vendor instead of a permanent ban.

She insists getting paid as friends and family and if you don’t get your order you have no recourse.
Her self-righteous attitude permiated every post to staff and she would not have ever been approved vendor status.
Any pending orders should be addressed to her thru her site.

To be clear, I am not asking you or calling you out to defend the decision. I have a personal history that includes being a Moderator on Expedition Portal and other sites so I fully understand how difficult the role is and how easy it is to armchair quarterback. Your work on the site is appreciated and supported.

What I am doing is expressing disappointment in the permanent loss to the community both as a member interested in supported DIY mods and as customer of the product discussed here.

Any member of this forum can make threads of installs of her products like the OP of this thread, and reviews and discussions I don’t believe will be prohibited; but this forum will not be part of her sales platform any longer.

Not knowing all the details -
    But
It really doesn’t matter how you pay a person - there is always recourse when doing e-commerce, even if you send a money order if you don’t get the items - it’s still wire fraud so you just call the local sheriff of the sales group and they will take care of it.... the only thing that changes when you use the friends thing on paypal is they don’t ding you with a fee for using eBay type service systems.

I can understand how some folks might be dismayed about harness changes after they have purchased the harness... No matter what you do some people are going to get upset with that, but those terms (They’ll fix it, or optionally just refund if not satisfied) are up to the seller typically... each path have it’s own pro’s & con’s.

First, my thread sure did get hijacked.

Second, it sounds like she's being punished because she didn't immediately placate one person. What about all of us who have dealt with her and had zero issues. Shouldn't the majority weigh more?

Third, when everything is done via text, email.or whatever instead of face to face, the receiver can always interpret it however they want. Even if the sender didn't mean it to come across that way. In my dealings with her, she seems scatterbrained. She has a full time job plus creating these mods for three different platforms.

    Just my $.02

@TUNDRAPROGUY2017 when I said discuss, that was directed at the product review and install.
Her ban is permanent and she will not return to here or to TacomaWorld or 4Runners, and she has never been nor will ever be a vendor.
This decision is not up for discussion.

Forcing payment via Friends/Family on PayPal doesn't protect the buyer at all, it only protects the seller since there is no recourse. Trust me, PayPal will be of no help to you. On top of circumventing fees, it's against PayPal policy to do this. When you have a PayPal for business account, there are tax forms that get created when it comes time to file, so she may not even be paying taxes. The fees associated to using a payment platform for your business is a cost to running a business. The $200 kit would have cost about $6.30 bucks in fees, which is pretty typical for any merchant account out there unless you're doing millions in sales annually, you can get something lower.

I'm not trying to take any sides here, but just looking at the transaction objectively... she's saving the customer about $6 bucks so she doesn't have to pass on the cost to the customer. But at the same time, the customer is being put into a place where they will have to trust her 100% to resolve issues. To be honest, this type of fee circumventing is completely amateurish when it comes to running a real business. There are expenses you pay as a business and you price appropriately. Period.

I've actually bought a couple items from her site and they are actually pretty good.

I had a Really bad experience with KTJO last year when she was doing the Tundra tailgate lock. I sent her full payment for the tailgate lock but she never reply to me saying that she had received the money. Numerous PMs and replies on her thread asking her if she had received the funds and no response whatsoever. This went on for 3 weeks! Finally, I sent her a final PM demanding my money back and she furiously posted my all of my personal data on her thread to the public. My name, address, telephone no, etc for everyone to see. She’s a real shady B****. I contacted the moderator and mod was able to get her to take down my personal data. I asked the mod on a follow up PM to reprimand her but nothing was done. Good thing I got my money back because after she ship the tailgate lock to everyone, it didn’t work. Everyone complained. You would think that should have been the end of the road for her but no she was allowed to prey on other members. Anyhow, sorry for other members who had grief dealing with her. Good riddance KTJO!

    Everyone,

Do not make this a thread about your experience with her. Let's keep it to an install, guide where people ask questions about the process. It has already been locked once and I don't want it locked again. I just want this to be able to help people out with their install.

So harness wise - beyond swapping the 2 leads for fold / unfold all else went OK... If I read things correctly?

For the fuse question guy - If you put a 20 amp fuse in line behind a 10 amp, the 10 will blow first...
In general fuse spec’s are done with 20% over amp fusing so this would mean the pull of the mirror motors is close to 15 amps ? (Speculation)
BUT if it’s not blowing a 10 amp fuse, one would expect the draw to be no more than 8 amps... so this seems odd that a 20 was used unless a there is a state where the unit might draw more amperage.

So has anyone gotten the auto fold to work right yet... that’s a bit concerning.

I haven’t, the harness I received didn’t have the lock and unlock wires in the correct spots, I spent a day on it and ended up unpinning those two wires from the harness and calling it a day. They fold by the switch, which was the original goal.

I’ve not installed mine yet, but it is known that folding with the remote doesn’t work right now. Only folding with the switch in the cab. Apparently the problem only impacted the first 8 people to buy.

Personally, I finally got tired of all of the waiting and the countless times I had to take my door panels off to help with development of this product and just wired the mirrors up directly to the switch. Now they work fine. The only feature I don’t have that KTJO will eventually provide with her product is the ability to auto fold and unfold mirrors when locking with the remote. And, to be honest, I don’t really need or want that anymore. I can fold the mirrors whenever I want by pressing the button on the mirror switch.

The dead nav screen, audio and USB ports ended up being a blown fuse that was no doubt caused by my messing with the fuse box without disconnecting the battery, when I tried to install her harness with the add-a-fuse. But with the way I have it set up now, there is no need to tap into the fuse box, which makes me more comfortable anyway.

I can understand that. Thanks for helping her with the testing! Honestly, I was just too lazy to wire them up myself. Lol. Now that I've installed the kit I want to run the wires and get the auto-dim and puddle lights working. Did you do those too? If so, where did you order your pins from?

Sometime posted this website the other day. I'm guessing you can find the pins on there, but I haven't had a need to look into anything specific yet. http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/index.php/cPath/109_130_134?osCsid=2ukjsi07mjvto5fcr08q5qpd90

    I used these,

    https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/2071
    https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/4189

My situation was slightly different. I bought a pair of used power folding/auto dim/bsm and turn mirrors. I took them apart and shared the pieces between two trucks. I took the mirror glass and associated wiring and installed it on my truck, the power fold mirror bases and the PnP harness were installed on my dad's Tundra ( he already had the Muth signal mirrors)

When I had mine apart I installed these from VLEDS into my stock housings

Interesting, I just checked the FB page and it appears that the lock and unlock wires are going to be interfaced with the plug on the door key cylinder
