I had the exact same problems with my 2019 f150 5.0.. total POS.. I trade for a 19 Tundra Limited.. could not be happier.. do it now...Tundra is a great truck.. was worried about the ride quality and the gas mileage and both have been non issues.. rides nice and 17-18 on the highway do it and don't look back

So true about 17-18, also false about FORD getting 21 MPG! My coworker's ecoboost drove from Bakersfield to Portland and got 18.x LOL, he doesn't led foot either. So false advertisement! Just look at Fuely.

@Losing Money just for perspective, I bought my 2019 SR5 last June and it's MSRP was $47,XXX and with rebates and such they had it down to $41,XXX to start out. Not sure how much they'd dicker after that as I was in a unique situation with trades so I wasn't trying to haggle. I was looking for a lateral move in overall debt and told them that if they could pull it off I'd be happy. They did, and I am.

Good luck in your truck hunt!

I have a 2010, 140k miles. Cam tower bone dry. No leaks. And if I’m not mistake there’s preventative solutions for the cam tower leak on the forums.

I have a 2015 tundra I bought new with almost 90k on it and it has never been to the shop for anything except oil changes and regular maintenance. I’m just now getting ready to replace the factory brakes and rotors. Yes getting a tundra is a solid reliable choice!!!

Bought a clean 2010 GMC Sierra in 2014 that consumed oil like your Ford. Over 2 quarts between oil changes.
Was caused by the Active Fuel Management going from V8 to V4.
After GM replaced the engine, it STILL did it.

Traded it in August 2018 for my 2015 SR5 TRD ($32,000) with 19,000 miles....what a difference. I am ashamed to think I considered that Sierra a truck.

Come over to the Tundra side...you won't regret it.

I had a 2012 F-150 that I traded for a 4Runner. The truck rode great, I liked the V8 5.0, but had so many electrical issues and other “little” problems I couldn’t take it anymore and my extended warranty was running out so I took no chances and traded it!

I liked the 4Runner but the wife didn’t so I traded that for a Lexus RX350 for the wife and got my 2019 Tundra. Both are great so far.

Twice as good as the 5.4l Super Crew I had. Just one of many problems prior to 90k on odometer. Ford owner for close to 30 years before I bought that POS.

The honest truth OP, is that it is a manufactured machine that you will know what you are getting till you own it. For example, I had a brand new 2017 4Runner that ended up having severe paint rust issues (not the frame). The truck was well cared for but the paint was bubbling everywhere. After multiple paint jobs it was simply time to retreat physically and financially from the truck. Mechanically it was rock solid. And it was built in Japan...not so sure why everyone swears by that...

Statistically speaking, a Tundra will be a much more reliable vehicle. Even with my 4Runner debacle I still purchased a Toyota knowing it is rare to get one of the 5% cars. All manufacturers produce lemons but I will take my chances any day on a Toyota vs buying a Ram, Ford, or GM product.

Always been a Ford truck guy. Have had multiple F150's and F250's. My last Ford ever was the 2016 F150 Screw FX4 with the 2.7. (Never had engine problems, but hated the turbo lag.)

At around 45,000 miles, rear end began getting noisy. At 65,000 miles, the rear end went out. And I mean the whole rear end. They had to replace from the driveshaft back, including the axle. Dealer wanted $6500 and said I was out of warranty. I called Ford direct and they agreed to pay for 90% of it, leaving me 10% to pay.

Fast forward 2 years and I have 120,000 miles on it and the rear end starts whining again. Drove it to 130,000 and traded it for a 2020 TRD PRO. I could not be happier.

I don’t know about the coastal region of S.C. but Upstate is hard to buy new Toyota’s. They do not come off the price much.

Toyota def isn't like Ford with pricing and discounts. I bought mine at the beginning of the Covid outbreak and got a good deal. Sent my buddy to the same guy last month and he got a good deal on a Taco. Dealer is in Alabama where I work. DM me if you want my guys contact - guaranteed he will beat anyone in SC.

I had a Chevy Silverado that was a rolling turd. It was always in the shop for something. Each time it would cost me around 1k to fix. I finally got rid of it when I noticed coolant dripping in the front passenger footwell. I purchased a brand new 2013 Crewmax and have been very happy ever since. I do have the dreaded cam tower leak but it is so small that around every 10k I just wipe of the oil and good to go for another 10k. I am just waiting for the new Tundra to come out to see if I should trade in. Only 60k miles currently. Its a garage queen.
