usually for gas tanks bolts they come with a welded stick to the nut so you can hold it in place there while you thread form the other side.
At least my WKOR came like that. I think C4Fab is the same.

Just about 2 hours. We took our time though and were in no rush. This is also my second set from RCI... had some on my Taco so the process was somewhat similar which helped.

All-Pro seems to be running a legit Memorial Day sale.

especially if you can find a local authorized dealer and not pay shipping.

@Backslider did you get these in? Any pics? I was not impressed with the three mounting points, didn't look strong enough. Wanted to support local, but they wasted my time.

I have not received them. I'm actually considering canceling my order based on the mounting points.

I have seen and experienced first hand their 4runner sliders and made my purchase based on that experience. I was surprised, after placing an order that these don't use any existing frame mounting points and that 12 bolt holes must be drilled...

I did not review those sliders, but there's no way that three bolts are going to be strong enough to hold sliders on a Tundra. I have 10 on each side, five into the side of the frame (using the large existing square holes with large square backing plates/washers) and five into the bottom of the frame. There's a couple spots in the bottom that need to be drilled. There are 2 or 3 existing holes, with welded nuts on the inside of the frame. However, these are 3/8" nuts, at best. I had already purchased 1/2" hardware (grade 8), so I drilled out all of the holes for the bottom of the frame mounting. If you're going to use as actual "rock sliders", and these are bolt on, I'd use no less given the length of these suckers. Leverage will work against you if you don't have enough mounting points, and your "slider" will get up close and personal with your rocker panel IMO

Will you be picking it up in Victorville? It’s a nice drive and will save some money on shipping.

It did take awhile, I think it did take the full 8 weeks they quoted. Ordered around February and picked up end of March.

My builder @BashFab noted there was a nationwide shortage on DOM tubing. Just an FYI, sure some folks keep more on hand but it took almost a month for him to get 200 feet.
It is in his hands now so he should be done making mine by the end of the week! Hopeful install in the next week or two (weld-on).

yeah for us SoCal peeps, pick up is worth the drive to WKOR. The owners are really nice too.
I think it took 7 weeks for me from order to pick up. The good thing is they don't charge you til you pick up. @Samoan Thor

For anyone installing rock sliders in the future and have to get one of those back plated nuts up behind the gas tank.. I used this set up with a little super glue.. took 5 minutes... and of course days/hours of pondering :anonymous:

That's how 2 come for white knuckle sliders. Welded to welding rods. Makes it simple for placing behind the gas tank. Just make sure all debris is removed. Last bolt on bottom of the frame is at a slanted position in the bend of the frame. Debris will lift the piece to were you can't get the bolt threaded until the debris is gone. Asked me how I know!?

When you were done with the install, did you still have a gap at the end between the frame and the wrap around portion of the slider? Seems that there's a gap from where the frame curves up and the slider stays straight. Same thing happened with my RCI sliders. I'm concerned about catching/holding water and dirt.

Have you guys heard much of Relations Race Wheels? Cool wheels... however they have both prefabbed and DIY slider kits and they look pretty legit, at least the V2 version does... Might snag a welder and give the DIY kit a shot. The only concerning thing I see is the lower frame mounts are more just tabs then they are a solid bottom piece of metal.

They will be coming out with the V4 slider later. They said there's a few things in the works, then they'll work on making the V4 for the Tundra.

    Here's the V4 for t4r. https://www.relationsracewheels.com...bolt-on-rock-sliders-toyota-4runner-2011-2020

Oh that's slick...I will say having had the WKOR sliders on the 100 series, I really liked having the kickout. V4 looks beefy and clean though...

Nice. I ended up welding the nut to the large backing plate/washer. I used a magnet pen to hold it into place while I tack welded it to the frame (from the outside). Now they are "permanent" on each side. And yes, I placed card board and fiberglass blanket over the gas tank...very very very quick tacks....

Did you make the skid yourself? Would love more pics. i'm considering making my own. I'm assuming like most, you just use all of the OEM holes for bolting it on. Just curious about the three "hooks" that hold it in front or are they eliminated with a custom job.

@BashFab is a custom fabricator. He made the skid. He is adding rivnuts to the frame because of the extended length. Not sure about the hooks. He can maybe help explain further, but he did say you need to roll it out on a floor jack. So maybe hooks are gone. I’m just along for the ride at this point and loving it

yeah, for skids, you'd def need a floor jack to hold it in place just to get the hooks in, and to get the bolts started. 3/16" plate while laying on your back, if heavy AF....especially if you're solo and trying to turn a wrench on it at the same time!

So I eliminated the hooks as with this heavy of a piece it just would be a hassle. I added two nuts to the frame in pre existing holes. Drilled out to accept a 5/16x18 rivnuts. All other bolts are factory.

My removal process is the 3 hidden bolts first then place the floor jack with a piece of cardboard on it right in the middle where the bend is with light pressure. Continued to remove the remaining 4 bolts then lower the skid and roll out. It's super simple and takes me 30 seconds to remove one I have all the tools and get my big ass on the ground to do it. Probably 2 minutes to re install in the reverse order. Align all bolts loosely before tightening any down then tighten away.

I also plan to make some LCA skids which I think will finish the front end off and have a smoother clean look than seeing all the bolts and factory weld seams
