10 gage powder coat steel. I'm in the south so it should be fine. http://www.rcimetalworks.com
10 gage is .140". Less than 3/16" but more than 1/8". Much more than factory. I left mine off from last week oil change. So I need something back on there.

I got mine on Saturday. They look great. They are nearly twice as long as the stock plate. This one was two pieces. It goes back to the cross member. I feel better having it on.

Do you have to remove the skid plate to do oil change? I thought that was what that door was for?
I have not done any oil changes on this rig yet.

Just bought a SR5 CM yesterday with a Pro Comp 7" lift. They didn't install any skids. Not even for the fuel tank. Will this skid plate work with the Pro Comp Lift? I'm sure there will be no problem with their fuel tank skid. Will the front skid clear the Pro Comp cross member? I have a lot to learn so if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.

I believe these do not fit any trucks with a bracket lift which yours does.

Yes it does have a hole. That's the main reason I bought it...look at the dates...I just installed it Feb 11. I changed my oil and left the factory one off Jan 20. Now the NEW one is on...

So i ordered steps from RCI back on the 9th of Feb. and was told they would be back from powder coat the following week and ship early the next week. Here we are 26 days later and last week i contacted Josh and he said they would be back from powder coat last week and ship asap. Is this type of communication the norm with them?

A couple of weeks ago I sent an email to them about their line of skid plates and that I was interested in the Aluminum skids and I never received a reply.

I emailed you today about the steps i ordered feb 9 and no reply and you skip my message here too! I do not appreciate being told a time frame that never happens. So i will ask again here.. Whats going on with my order that you originally told me was going to ship the week of feb. 20?! You could not have just told me the truth that it would be very close to a month now?

Hey Jeremy, we just received your steps last night around 5 and they will be shipping out today. I'm not sure what exactly you were told on time frame though we do try to maintain roughly 2 weeks or less on almost all orders. In the case of the side steps they had to be manufactured from the ground up for your order and thus 3-4 weeks would have been a more accurate guess on those. For the record, we try extremely hard to meet peoples deadlines and time constraints if applicable so given this is the first time I have heard from you since the order was placed I feel we still did a good job getting the part out in a timely manner considering the custom nature of this product.

Again, please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions since that is the most reliable way to get ahold of us quickly.

you can't necessarily say give us "another" email or phone call! That sounds as if it's the issue. It sounds like RCI made the deadline and couldn't deliver. This definitely made me think twice about getting my skids from here. One reason why I love this forum....

I ordered the steps from Josh on the phone and in fact he said he already had all the parts cut out and they just had to be assembled so i dont know why you are saying now they had to be mfg from the gound up? And for the record you did tell me the time frames that i stated earlier and i was never told 3-4 weeks. Furthermore this is not the first time you have heard from me since i ordered. I emailed you feb. 24 which you did reply to 3 days later but it was a weekend so i give you a break there. Now..maybe you have me confused with someone else...i dont know and i dont care. I just want to know what is going on and if you had delays i wish you just updated me instead of me having to contact you. If you told me when i ordered that it would be 4 weeks i would be perfectly happy with that however that is not the case but i am really happy to hear that my steps are shipping today and i am sure the quality is better then other steps out there and that is why i was more than happy to pay full price.
Just gets me pissed when i am not being communicated with to the level as i expect as i own and run a small business too and i would never ever tell my customers a date that i could not meet and if i did i would contact them as soon as i found a delay. (Im old school like that)

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your response and we certainly understand where you are coming from when an estimated time schedule turns out a bit longer than expected. The RCI team is working very hard to get all orders out as quickly as we can. We do make deadlines happen as much as possible if someone has a specific event they are building up for, in which case our process is different-we put an order note in our system with a ship by date. 99% of the time we are able to make that happen and contact you if it doesn't. In this case I provided about a 2week turnaround time and it was taken as pretty firm. If there is a critical date discussed or any other concerns regarding your order, we will be sure to contact you to communicate any changes. I do apologize for that mixup and that we didn’t start your order off as an agreed delivery time or explain our lead times better and I hope that helps show why we didn’t contact you first. I will be sure to make this clearer in the future as to minimize any uncertainty.

We do appreciate your order and value you as a customer. We are excited to show you how great these steps are in person, you will not be disappointed.

    Thanks,

    Josh

I drove down thru Alberta coming back from AK. Very nice province by the way. Why not drive down here to CO and get a custom fit and meet us CO Tundra crazies. Bring a case of Cheezies with you. I can get Canuck brewskies here. Not Cheezies. Help my Cheezies fix. Please....
