Did a lot in the old Turdna today. I didn’t take any photos though.

reclamped/sealed all my joints from last night, and tried a new method of sealing out my exhaust leak. I’m excited for tomorrow morning to see if it drones or not.

also, I fluid filmed the bottom of the bed, and installed my spare tire underneath for the first time ever. It’s a nice feeling!

i actually saved the straight crossmemebers from my old bed because of the rust that my new bed has in case it gets worse...

Smart, but it takes up a fair bit of room. I have to drill all the spot welds and condense them

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
That's amazing, I need an excuse to try this. My headlights are all discolored and gross to the point that restoring them does nothing. Do you think there's a way to get just new lenses and replace them on the assembly?

Sprayed an entire 18 oz industrial size of pb blast on the rear diff yesterday, did a little more this morning. Now I'm in the process of spraying a full can of fluid film on the diff cover.. will let that settle for an hour or two then I'm gonna coat the shit out of it with lucas red n tacky lithium grease, cause FUCK rust! :)

Your truck being an 01 you should just buy the AKKONs Assys off Big Gurrl for about $115 for both sides. I guess you could buy the lens somewhere, but not sure where. The old reflectors were nasty on mine so it makes sense to do the whole unit.

Wire wheeled a couple sections, and then investigated with a sanding wheel. NG. Wire wheel is better than nothing, but anywhere I can fit a grinder will get a through buff if there is bubbling under the paint, or rust.

Will be updating less, and working more. I expect to ba called back to work sometime next week. Ng⁹

Used the truck to bring home the 3.5 I’ll be sending out to monkey wrench racing to cut the cylinders out and install darton sleeves... (and some lighter rods with 12:1 compression pistons)

Finally got around to installing SS brake lines (extended in rear to 26”). Finally got to see all that droop :bananadance:

I also installed 700lb springs up front a couple weeks ago. I can’t adjust them as easily as my 650lb springs while on the truck. They stifffff. I need some spring compressors to help relieve some of the pressure....

Before I head to the auto parts store to try out several different types, Can anyone point me in the right direction of spring compressors you’ve that would fit / work?

    Thanks!

I cleaned and inspected my PCV valve yesterday and was surprised how gooey and gross it was. That inclined me to half-ass install an oil catch can.

The tubing and mount aren't permanent, I just want to see how effective it is. I plan to fab a bracket by the brake booster if I decide I like having the can.

You trying to put the spring compressors on with the coilover still on the truck? That may be impossible. Ive had luck with these before but i had to have the preload adjusters all the way loose on my Fox 2.5's to slide the compressor between the coils:

I mean, I can take the coilover off to adjust them. Just thought there could be a way to leave them on the truck so I can add more leverage on Turning the collar.

I stopped by Oreillys Yesterday and rented a McPherson Spring compressor like the one you linked. They’re too wide to fit inbetween the coils like you said. I just need about .25-.30” more preload than currently got on there.

Gonna have to take them off and just take it to a shop with a wall mount to get the few extra turns needed. Uhhhh

the truck is jacked up wheels off the ground in this photo...

Copied @Casper421 and moved this to a better spot. It just barely fits. I also reinstalled my oil pan skid.

There is a rubber line from the frame to the axle, then it tee's off as a hard line to each drum cylinder. He just replaced the rubber line with a longer one.

Tinted the windows, really happy with how it all came out, can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner living in the Texas heat.

15% all around and the brow, went about 3 inches past the AS1 line.

Can see perfectly fine and it’s much cooler and darker in the cab. Kids are loving it too, which was the main reason for doing it.

I think it was @NUDRAT and someone else who recommended a full replacement.

    Dorman unit.

    Here you go!

The new one is kinda stiff during operation, but works. Exercised up/down 10 times. GOLLY GEE. That was more of a work out than the HOSS leaf springs. Lol

    Smoothiness now! :D
