33X12.5 R18 or 285/65 R18?

I have a set of 18X9 with +35 offset rims. I bought it used with 275/60R18 tires and would like to get some new tires. I am planning to put on some pocket flares and would like the tires to be flush with the flares. The tires that are on it right now sticks out about 1/2 inch from the fenders. The question is, what size tires can I put on without any rubbing. I am on stock height due to the height of my garage door (3" clearance). I was thinking of putting on 33/12.5 but afraid that might rub. Can I go with the 33's or stick with 285's?

 

you can run 33's with very little trimming or modifications (there will be a tiny bit. for example, removing the front spats). you could run either size.
