That I can see; the guy I spoke of said most of what they had were 150's/1500's, with a few 250's/2500's. I do know that there tended (at least in the mid 2000's) to be a huge difference in quality between the Ram 1500's and 2500's/3500's.

I didn't get into specifics (e.g., what company was it, where was it, etc.) obviously, as I didn't think it was my business; but the information he gave me coincided exactly with what I've read here and elsewhere (e.g., the gearing in the Tundras was noticeably beefier than in other 1/2 tons, as are the bearings; Dodge dashboards tended to break down first; and so on).

Well I bit the bullet an am getting a WDH installed when I go to pick up the camper. Given the dry weight is 4500 ish but tongue weight is already at 542 dry, I don't think it's hard to imagine the weight once fully loaded to be close to 6k or better an tongue weight will only increase. I think given its a giant brick going down the road as opposed to a flat trailer it may be effected by wind more.. All I know is I'm new to towing an if it's a un pleasent experience then I'm less likely to use my investment.. It seemed worth the 600 bucks up front. I already have my first trip planned for next Monday so I am excited an also nervous. I've only towed 1 other time with my Tacoma an it was no problem. I'm sure once I do it a few times I'll be fine..

Thanks all for the advice and info

I run a Husky Centerline and pull a 29' 7400 GVW trailer (5400 dry). No issues what so ever.

Sound decision I believe. Better to have more than not enough . Good luck with the trip and post up some pictures of the adventure when you get back.

Wellp got it home in one piece, got it up my hill of a driveway off the road without much trouble. Little tough manuvering up top but it will come to me. The weight distribution hitch gave me hardly any sag an road well..
