I've owned my 2002 for 17 years, and I believe it's been cap less for a total of about 3 months during that entire time. I really enjoy driving it without the cap, but work requires a cap - so that's that.

I don't think I even have a pic of mine without the cap?

The new one came with a really nice color matched lid too but for the life of me I could not imagine how to make that work for me?

Right now I am torn about not having the French Doors on the rear of the new truck as I can hardly reach into the bed at all with the extra 2' now from the tailgate.
On the other hand I can also not reach deep enough into the wallet right now to order a new color matched contractor cap for the truck with French Doors either!

Lay a 1/2” sheet of PVC on the bed floor. Put some grab handles on it. This will allow you to slide your stuff out to grab it. The PVC slides easily with moderate weight.

It sure does! Just a little pop top with three height settings. Not sure when it was installed, but it doesn't leak and it operates well.

Who makes that topper? I saw you mention looking into A.R.E. and LEER for their commercial toppers, but I didn't see this one on their sites. Was this a custom order from A.R.E.?
    That is a sweet addition!

It's an ARE high wedge DCU with a full size rear hatch, the Line-X on top was added under warranty to fix a roof leak. I opted for the highest wedge roof available, and switched from suicide doors to the hatch at the last minute.

Cool I am not sure I have seen a Sunroof in a Regular Cab of our vintage but it seems like a decent idea!
I remember the days when I could get one at Target or Walmart and install it myself but then they just vanished?

I like that Tall Shell too but then I seem to like every shell!

I found the Bedslide really cheap here local to me and I have never seen one with a box like this one has before?
It came right off too and it seems like a standard early model Slide and an insane heavy duty aluminum box and all of the smaller internal dividers are adjustable too!
Now in order to use it in the new Tundra I need to reconfigure the shelves that I have already built too of course.

Must not keep both Tundra,Must not keep both Tundra,Must not keep both Tundra:sadviolin:

    Stop the music!

If you are able, keep both trucks.

Too late,I turned on Repeat and broke the knob off!

If it was just about the 2 Tundras that would be one thing but I am trying to keep the Fleet to 3 if I can, each with a different job!

So paying Taxes and Insurance for 2 with the same exact skills is sadly not practical,as though thats all that is important?

That red 1st gen is a really neat setup dude. Looks like you could sleep back there during a camping trip. Honestly seems better than a bed tent

coupl’a updates, finally got my new tires mounted and rolling. Running a little over 33”. I also won this steering wheel on eBay for cheap, so I’ve been doing my research on mounting this in the truck. I’ve read that the late 90’s Tacomas have the same spline diameter as the Corolla, but haven’t found a ton on first gen tundras. Going to keep digging and see if I can make something work.

I have plans to build out the bed and make my own manual topper lift to give about 16” more head room. Will update after I get materials today and get to building.
