So our trucks are opposites of sorts, my bed bolts were rusted up, and had trouble with that... yours seemed to be okay from your other post.

    Odd.

Sure, you wanna climb that low grade hill over there (points off at a trail) and ride that for the next 17 miles like I used to in my peak days?

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
1.5" is the perfect wheel spacer thickness, I'm convinced, for 1st Gens on factory rims! Finally closed the chapter on wheel-related work for awhile and I'm pleased.

It's subtle. Maybe you can't even tell upon first glance! Just enough to push the wheels slightly outside of the fenders for a look that aggressively says, "Hey, it's a truck," while modestly stating, "Hey, I'm not a D-bag." (Widely-spaced stance is... a taste shared by not my type.) The truck corners a little more stable now, although I do have some rubbing in the front at full lock. Getting my 2.5" lift back should help?

While I had the wheels off, obviously I sanded off the rusty drums...

And gave them a fresh coat of high heat paint.

I wasn't too meticulous due to time constraints, but it should last for awhile. Since I prefer no center caps, this was also a chance for me to paint black the little holes inside the wheels (axle ends in rear, axle caps in front). It's a small, though important, cosmetic touch. I put a little anti-seize where the spacer mates to the drums/rotors and used blue removable Loctite to adhere the spacer lug nuts.

I'm not linking the product as I'm angry it had a different thread pitch, forcing me to buy 48 new lugs. At least I stepped up from 12 x 1.5 to 14 x 1.5, slightly beefier studs coming off the spacers and at least I seized the chance to get black lugs.

One last satisfying before and after:

Got it all taken care of today. Wasn’t bad at all. Other than the 24mm didn’t want to come off...

my frame is only a year old though. That’s why I had it so easy. I had to drill out one on the new frame, and 2 on the old frame. They all just came loose once the tension was off though.

frame is nice and shiny, but the body is rotten. :frusty:

"Ah, I see" said the blind man.

I only had two bolts come out without breaking. The other 4 I could not get to break loose from the nuts. Believe me I tried.

I even tried to drill out the old ones, and tap the threads on the nuts. I broke my tap...

Thats why I went with removal.

Bought a few items off @lsaami parts truck. He delivered as promised. Thank you.

Fabbed up my Oil Seal Installer with some 2” PVC Piping and Fittings. Basically a perfect fit, but we’ll know more once the job starts. Still figuring on what to do as a back up plan if my 14mm and ratchet with a cheater pipe can’t make it happen on bolts removal.

Painted the used rear bumper caps with some Bed Liner. My drivers side cap has been missing since the second day I bought the truck in 2002. :D

Removing the rear bench seat on my access cab resulted in a little more road noise than I wanted so I decided to try some sound deadening material.
I have no experience with any of these types of materials so I chose Kilmat, decently reviewed and priced right. It cuts easily with scissors and applies easy enough. I did purchase rollers based on installation reviews but for my particular installation and needs I don't think they were necessary. I wasn't looking for the best sound deadening result, that would require doing the entire truck.

    The rollers

The final look after re-installing the stock material over the Kilmat stuff. I used some duct tape to keep the stock stuff in place but left the lower area open so the vents can still do their job.

After a 200 mile road trip yesterday I'm pleased with how it works. It's not Lexus quiet but good enough for me compared to the way it was without the rear seat in place.

I had $5k set aside for my trip to NC at the end of the month to travel to WV to buy a Glastron CVX20. Unfortunately, the guy sold it yesterday :( ....I have only found one other CVX 20 (jet-driven) that's in MS. So what have I done with my Tundra today? I've been contemplated using that (or at least some of) money to buy everything I have left to do to my Tundra....Decisions decisions...

EDIT: These bed bolt through holes are pretty AWFUL. The only two that aren't completely terrible are the two at the front of the bed.

Think it would be worth my time to cut these out, rent a welder, and weld in new through hole tubes? That's really the only thing I can think to do there. I'm positive there is not enough metal on most of them to save.

What about using bed liner on the under side? That would not need to be pretty. Just a good coating. That would let me experiment before doing the inside of my bed. Which I may do.

i like the sound that makes... but i really think im going to do the long tubes from @dirtydeeds and make my own exhaust from the manifolds back with a X pipe and 2 QTP screamer mufflers.. just so i can have loud and quiet.

im probably going to have the most expensive exhaust out there.... Managed to dig up some old 2.5" 300 series stainless from a project my father was on years ago... i think i have just enough to do the tundras exhaust and my tacomas exhaust. both will get the screamer treatment.. tundra will have 2 though vs the tundras 1 (i want x pipe out to duals, but exiting on the passenger side for both pipes... ideally tucked up close to the body between the leafs like the magnaflow does on my fathers 02 tacoma

That is rather unfortunate. :( Personally I would try to weld in new ones, it took me many months to find a new Tundra bed.
