Alright so the news w the sensor issues. Was speaking with Corey from victory/jcr up until the 3rd when he said he would get back to me after finding some more info out on his end, still haven’t heard from him as of right now and have sent a few emails. I heard their customer service was good but so far it’s been disappointing. I hope they can rectify this soon or at least respond to an email. 6+ day’s is a bit excessive to not respond to customers with an issue from their end.

Lol definitely some kind of luck. A reply on their end would be nice so hopefully there’s a good reason behind it.

So I just installed an 18 platinum bumper on my 15 1794, the 15 has a oval round hole, the 18 is oval with a notch cut out almost like a mushroom shape. The 15 has a odd shaped bezel around the sensor and uses a retaining clip behind the bumper. The 18 has a round bezel that just snaps in. Needless to say I had to order complete sensors to accommodate the newer bumper. I believe most of these aftermarket bumper company’s are designed with the older 15ish model year sensor holes and your truck is probably a newer model year with updated sensors that don’t fit in the old holes. I hope that makes sense.

Makes perfect sense thank you. I sanded the hell out of the bezel around the sensor and still couldn’t get it in. Have spoken to victory a ton and there’s no resolve to the issue so I was going to purchase new sensors for the front. Would you mind posting which sensors you bought for the front? I have the oval hole on my 18 too. The one in the install video is an 18 too I believe with the round sensor holes.

So since I have a 15 I had to purchase the sensors you have for an 18, which is part# 89341-0R060. I would imagine that anyone with a newer truck, probably 17 and up would need the stock sensors from my truck, part# 89341-0C020. The retaining clips would also have to be purchased part# 89348-0C011. Again im not 100% on this, I just think that these aftermarket bumper companies designed the sensor holes around the second and early third gen trucks, 07-16ish.

Yep so got new sensors and they are still way too large for the hole even when I break it down entirely. Will keep working on this and update as soon as I find something that works

So what did they tell you? What do you mean there was no resolve to the issue? Do they advertise it will fit? That’s crappy that you have to buy new sensors and make it work if it was advertised that it will fit.

So I got the 89341-0c010 and not the 0c020 which would be my next try. I believe the years for the ones I got were from 13-18 from what the description said.

They told me that their bumper had zero issues w the sensor so they don’t know why it wouldn’t work with mine. I sent them pics of my bumper without the sensors and showed them what a factory bumper looks like. They suggested I keep trying out new sensors to see if I can get one to fit. By no means have they tried to fix it but rather to place blame elsewhere. The sensor holes are different, end of story. They need to do some more research on their sensor fitment before advertising it will work because it doesn’t. Iv even taken a belt sander to the whole bezel around the sensor itself and it still won’t fit. They asked for dimensions of the sensors like that was the culprit. I bought my truck brand new w 2 miles on it so I know it was entirely stock and never torn apart. Just going round and round here w them like I said.

Ya I would absolutely send it back but it’s been on a month now and we have been trying to figure the sensors out so who knows if they’d take it back still. The bumper looks amazing and is perfect imo except for the sensor holes.

This all really sucks, man. Sorry you had to d|ck around with this for so long on such an expensive item.
I commented earlier on my notice of Victory4x4 parts really showing a lack of quality control and r&d. I've reached out to them twice in the last week with two pretty simple product inquiries and got the lamest, most half-assed email responses I've ever seen. Now, I'd be the first one to tell you that I'm not interested in the pleasantries and 'the customer is always right' BS, cuz frankly, the customer isn't always right, but damn. Can I get more than a three word response? These guys need to step up their game a little. Start testing your stuff better and please hire someone else to answer your contact form inquiries.
    Ok, sorry. Rant over.

Bro 100% right there w you! Half assed answers and going round and round without any real response or customer service. I followed Brian’s build that was something like 50+ pages and loved how involved he was and he was there for the ppl and not just to make a product to sell, it looked like he was really interested in providing a product for everyone. Iv had so many random ppl come up to me asking what bumper it is and I tell them of course, also that I love it and it looks amazing but I warn them 100% that if they go my route to be careful. I’d be interested to hear from ppl on this forum to see exactly how many ppl have perfectly circular holes. There’s no way my bumper is the only one that looks oval shaped considering mines stock. I’m trying not to rant too and just provide facts but almost 1700$ on a bumper I had been researching for dam near 6 months and then when I finally jump it doesn’t fit the sensors which is the primary reason I bought it. Rant over as well. I’ll figure it out someday I just want to put too much work into fixing the bumper the right way cause they couldn’t

Nope absolutely nothing. They are baffled and have no more suggestions on how to make this work other than keep buying new sensors from other years. What I’m interested in is if some the tundra bumpers come with a round sensor hole on their stock bumper or if some are round and some oval shaped. I wouldn’t think Toyota would play that kind of a game..

For what it's worth, I have a 2019 TRD Sport, and I replaced the front bumper with an N-FAB MRDS. It did not accommodate for the parking sensors, so I used a stepper bit and drilled out a 7/8" hole in the mesh covers on the corners. I removed the retaining ring from the sensor, installed from the front, and attached the sensor from the backside of the bumper. It's been about a year and I have had no issues.

Nice! The only thing I don’t want is to crack into the powder coat and have it peel prematurely. I need to practice on a piece of wood to see if I can take a step bit and fit the stock sensors in or not. The parking sensors I have are not round but oval shaped so I think I’ll have to buy aftermarket round ones

That's odd that it's oval shaped. I went out to the garage to check to see what the factory hole looked like on my bumper. It's mushroom shaped like other's have mentioned. But no issues when installed in a round hole.

Ya see that’s not what mine looks like at all but mine is also the chrome bumpers. I have no idea why Toyota would pull that lol

Yeah, that doesn't seem very efficient when it comes to manufacturing.

My guess is that Victory 4x4 did not account for the different mount hole in their design.

Could you get a measurement of the hole size?

Measurements north/south and east/west (in relation to the pic) are the same. The diameter (not accounting for the mushroom shape) are: 23mm or .9" or 29/32". I went with 7/8" to ensure a tight fit.

    Function before sparkle.
This is something Victory should be solving. Living in a cold winter/salt on the roads area, the only way I would drill into a brand new bumper is if it would be immediately sandblasted and re-powder coated. If not, rust will start within a year.

OP. Looks like the hole on yours from Victory 4x4 was just drilled/cut too small. You should ask them to measure the hole from their demo Tundra to compare with. In the install video it seems like the hole on their bumper is a bit oversized for the sensor. Victory needs to put in a little more effort to make this right.

This is one of the bumpers I am looking at for a future purchase, so I would like for Victory 4x4 to have this sorted out.

And the hole size of the victory is 13/16” while mine is 13/16x15x16” if I remember correctly (I posted it earlier).
Yes I live in Colorado so I don’t want to break the seal on the bumper prematurely and have it begin to flake on me. What victory should do is pay for it to be sanded and repainted at their own cost since I paid them to do it for me.
Ya that’s what it looked like in the beginning but looking at my factory sensors too and they are oval shaped and not round so even if it were bigger it still wouldn’t sit in there properly. I bought a cheap on for 15$ on Amazon. I’m going to drill a 15/16” hole in a board and see if the factory ones fit or the cheap one that I bought. I’d expect the factory to sit in there weird because it’s oval shaped and the aftermarket one to sit perfectly. It’s just the whole drilling in a bumper that they claimed the factory sensors worked on and now I have to solve the issue on my dime when they are the ones advertising it a certain way.

the bumper is absolutely perfect and I get asked all the time about it especially w the Baja designs so I don’t regret the buy I just wish it was an easier fix w no repercussion for having to alter it.

Also they measured their factory bumper and it was identical to the holes they cut in all of their bumpers. Mine is just that one in a million that Toyota decided let’s f this guy lol
