Yeesh. Yeah, I'll have to do something. This is with my firepit material in the back. Nowhere near 1200lbs...

I think I may end up having to do that. My leafs look flatter than they should imho. I wonder if airbags would be a good investment while I'm at it too.

Is it strange that I keep getting Deja-vu while working on my frame? :der:o_O

I've never pulled a bed before, nor laid hands on an exposed vehicle frame.

    It is satisfyingly therapeutic :D

Its almost like I've done all this before but I know I haven't.

I wonder if the Hellwig Helper Spring may be a cheaper fix than installing completely new leafs.

Probably about as effective as the add-a-leaf.... I would do airbags before I tried the Hellwig.

    They'll help short term.

If it were me I'd do an AAL and bags.

All the rusted out bed bolt nuts have been removed. Skeeters are getting fierce. Crystalbal is looming ominously over the horizon. I'm covered in ospho juice, sweat, blood, rust, dust, wires, tires, and "annie freeze."

Okay, not all of those. I just thought it sounded nice. Moral of the story, I fucking stink. I've worked so hard I ripped my shorts. I got some ospho in my eyes despite my safety squints. Ospho somehow got in my drink that was on the other side of the 32 foot camper... that tasted... lemony...

Fixed my leaf spring after conferring with Bill at alcan.

The humidity is kicking my butt.

I’ll take some night pics, the mountains are weird here, from certain parts of town, some disappearing just how they are stacked I guess, but that’s from the north side of town, but it’s over the top and showing on the south face at night, bitchen sites

Packing it in. I thought FOR SURE I would not have enough weight in the back end to back out of the hill I parked on.

She ate just barely enough gravel to grab, and go. Spun the wheels just barely.

I drove to virgina last Christmas or the year before. Can't remember.

Long story short my ex's mom and I were up front. She was driving I was riding passenger.

3 people in the back. All of us were high as hell. Tazewell, and Bluefield Virginia kinda sit in a punch bowl with "mountains" on 3 sides.

Its just before daybreak. You can kinda see outlines of stuff, but not really. We pull up to a stop sign I said to Vicky "Wow the clouds sure are pretty up here." I stopped, and looked again and started giggling. She looked at me inquisitivly. I said "those aren't clouds... those are mountains." She bust out laughing, I bust out laughing and we went on on our merry way. Lol

Well. Spent more time at the property today. So far the barn appears to also be a sears and Roebuck kit and the small 2 car garage also, appears to be a sears and Roebuck garage. The rafters in both have the assembly stampings. So interesting to say the least

Sounds like the whole property is catalog ordered.

Do you think the corners of the property will have assembly stampings as well?

Either way, you, and your family have a VERY neat piece of history.

well the street its on is named after a senator on the union side of the civil war, the monee railroad is right next to it all and the other house on the property is from 1887. the entire place has that old turn of the century vibe.. even with all the stuff in the barn

Perhaps you should start a seperate thread just for all your property findings?

    History buffs would love that.

we'll see. restoration to the sears house is first. then securing the caving roof of the barn.. the barn may need a total overhaul, but we'll keep the outside if its saveable (should be). termites have gotten to parts of it. so if a rebuild happens hes already thinking steel framing it and retaining the original structure. as much as possible... but ensuring it'll withstand the test of time a bit better

the garage needs the concrete fixed up and some wood replaced. but in all the garage is solid, its a 2 car but only 1 door is on it. the other door is plywood... but we found the other door, on the shipping container on the property... they didnt destroy the door either. they made use of it on the container and kept it intact

Super neat. Termites are a real problem around here. Sucks to see all that original assembly work go to waste for lil bugs to munch on it.

I was going to say craftsmanship instead of assembly but not 100% sure that totally applies. Guaranteed there was some, but like stated earlier. Kit house.

Man, that's gonna be a killer spot when the work is finished.

I look forward to seeing your progress! I would love to help out, but I'm kinda new at home repairs, and not sure how much help I would really be.

Do you think the Katanas would last if you disabled the DRL feature? Or is that a feature you MUST have.

I do not have DRL lights, and simply leave my low beams on at all times with fogs.

The Katanas would probably last longer without DRL. I’ve disabled that feature just to experiment without them to see how the system would react before making my next purchase. DRL is a nice feature, but I may just run with Parking Light feature on as a substitute to DRL (front amber corners only ON). I like the Katanas and do realize the Projectors produce a better beam, but the $$$ is giving me reservation.

I need to go out and see if my Fogs still work now that I disabled the DRL. I overlooked this when testing.

I did the helper springs before I got new leafs and they were actually very effective.

AAL adds lift, but not really weight capacity. Are your leaf springs original?
