Fifty years ago Sprint Cars raced here in San Diego at Speedway 117 near the Mexican Border. I saw my last Sprint Car race at Ascot Park in Gardena back in the early 1990s.
It's the Baddest A$$ed racing on dirt . . . Love it !

 

They sure are some fast little SOBs.

 

He was pretty excited. So was my daughter. Only negative was they weren't letting family and friends on the track for the trophy ceremony like they usually do.

 

That sucks. It didn't look like they were enforcing social distancing in the stands or pit.

 

Not at all. The track's website said half capacity, temperature checks at the gate and free masks for geezers like me. None of that happened. There were more people than I've ever seen there. The only rule they stuck to was nobody from the pits could go into the stands.
So we didn't even see Chris between races. That after we sat through a painful late model sportsman that featured 3 cautions on the first 3 laps, 9 in the first twelve. It ran so long that they finished the last two under caution, which they normally don't do.

 

That's actually a great idea for the looters... throw beehives into the crowds that are doing anything but peaceful protests.

This set of storms that rolled up from the south through Colorado and Wyoming has beat the poo out of so many power companies since yesterday. Pretty sure I'll be on a first name basis with all the call centers and dispatchers for multiple power companies by the end of the week.

 

Been on hold for 20 minutes on my current attempt to contact a power company.

 

Well, after 25 minutes on hold I moved on to the next power outage..... they must use the same call center for after hours calls because I am on hold again and the hold music is identical.

 

Sweet! Got through to the last power company for the current outages. No more hold music!

Things have finally kinda slowed down. Storms appear to have moved on for the most part. Might be nice and quiet until morning.

I'm kind of torn right now. My back/neck/rib have been out of whack for the last couple weeks so I've made a chiropractic appointment to get it all addressed, but I've also been sleeping like I'm dead the last few nights. I think that the consistent pain has been exhausting me and I have been sleeping great as a result. Kinda worried that getting it fixed is gonna bring the insomnia back. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

 

Sounds about right.
