Interesting. Clearance where? I spent a bunch of time under there the past few weeks and didn't see any place where the boot would contact something, lifted or not.

Leaf spring, singular, showed up today...

I went up to the ups truck, and asked the guy where the other one was. He told me they only loaded one on the truck.

Immediately after he left I gave Alcan a call. Spoke with Bill. Told him what happened. He recommended using my tracking number, which I had done. Tracking number says BOTH were delivered. Told him that. He kinda laughed it off, and we discussed how weird it is for this to happen through UPS.

I then suggested that I simply wait a few days, and see if it turns up? He said that would probbaly be the way to go. I told him "Okay, I'll give UPS until Wednesday I guess. If it doesn't show up by then I'll let you (bill) know, and then call the local ups"

I don't think I would wait around for it. Give them a call and inform them it's missing. Did both boxes have address labels on them? Should there be two tracking numbers??

Since you called, follow up with an email!!!!

Say who you spoke to when you spoke to them, the plan and when you will be in contact if the plan doesn't go...as planned.

Bill might not be there by Wednesday and no one will know anything and you're on your own..

    Good idea!

Just got my email from UPS saying order was delivered. There is a "report loss" function there. Think I will email alcan, and report loss with UPS.

    @imDementeD

    Emailed alcan with the plan.

Reviewed the UPS receipt of delivery one last time before reporting loss.
It now says "2 of 3 delivered. 1 of 3 in transit. Estimated delivery date: 6/08/20."

I swear I'm only a little crazy, but I 100% saw it earlier say that all 3 were delivered.

Hes a good guy, I spoke with him twice when I ordered my leaf packs. If they shipped the same way there was a ship label stuck to the leaf and they're damn hard to get off. Seems like they're stuck on before the paint dries. I would definitely contact UPS though to question them, it's hard to misplace a 5 foot long, 50lbs pile of metal.

Bill is the owner, he is always there.
When my springs arrived the smallest 2 leafs were on backwards. Bill said they must have been made on a Friday lol, he sent me a new center bolt right away and got it sorted.

Some areas on the spring the paint was still gooey. Not quite dry, and not quite wet. UPS seems to attach a plastic label to the leaf springs. There were still some stickers, but those mainly peeled off. I had already removed those while I was waiting on the UPS guy to finish rooting around in his truck.
    20200605_165752.jpg
I agree its hard to misplace something of this size, I think I will wait until Monday. When the slip says it will be delivered. Besides, its 5pm on a Friday afternoon.

Good to know I will be able to get in touch with him if need be.

How did you know that? This is my first ro-day-o with "aftermarket" springs.

When you have the other and you put them side by side, you'll notice the smaller leaves (leaves or leafs? That's confusing me) are not symmetrical. From the center pin to the end will be longer one direction than the other. On mine one had the long end aiming to the front, the other leaf pack it aimed to the back. Bill let me know which was correct and had a new center pin rushed to me.

    I go with leafs

Okay, I've got the general idea now. I'm sure once I have the other one I'll understand better.

So dumb question because your post kinda confused the plan I had in my brain.

Once I determine both are "okay" it doesn't matter which leaf goes in driver or passenger? If it does matter how do I determine that?

I set mine up side by side on level ground with the arch facing up. One was a tiny bit taller, maybe 1/4 of an inch or less, I used that on my driver side. To be sure you could call Bill, I think he may have told me to do it that way but it's been a while.

You have to do the 5320.20 form for:
    • SBR
    • SBS
    • AOW
    • Destructive Devices
    • Machine Guns
Suppressors are legal as LONG as the state you're carrying them into allows them.

FYI: I'm not a lawyer so always check your local, state and federal laws :)

that little sticker - the PAL label tells the loader where to put the package in the truck.
The route is planned, the placement of packages is planned.
You may very well have seen different information show up earlier & it be corrected later on.

Probably... Leafs are heavy & no one wants to deal with them, so stuff like that tends to get left until last & if they run out of room - Yea!, don't have to deal with that heavy package! Oh - I mean, gee whiz I hate I can't fit this into the truck . :anonymous:

FWIW, your local depot is likely open & delivering on Sat., but doubt any heavy stuff goes out. But if you showed up & found a supervisor you might talk them into letting you drag your leaf out.

    LOL!
Tonight I managed to take the first curve on my exit ramp at 60! in the Tundra. Previous best is 54. But I'm old enough to realize that's quite enough. ...although I'm still aiming to take the 2nd curve (90) at 50 in the Prius - 45 is my best so far.
I may have had some advanced driver training over the years & perhaps have some track time under my belt too...

I knew there was a method to the madness. This however, was an education. @NUDRAT thank you much. Depending on tomorrow's activities I may have time to go.
