Been seeing pictures around of a few of you that have done this mod behind the Pro grill and I'm getting antsy... this is a must do for me.

just wondering, how did you wire your mod? did you wire them to the DRL/park lights so they're always on? or did you wire to a separate switch? which ambers did you choose for your mod? any other wiring hacks involved in getting them running? special brackets, etc?

Hello sir, you can wire the “Raptor” lights to the turn signals violet wire (+) and grounded to chassis or white black stripe wire (-) so they only comes ON with the parking lights (first click on headlights switch)

You should use the Violet wire in the side maker plug, I recommend you to use positaps instead of the regular t-tap

I been waiting this on eBay and looks ok you can also build your own

Just give them a short spacing I don’t like how the picture in the eBay link is they look too far for my taste

thanks for the reply, I looked up posits and that's definitely the kind of feed back I was looking for. looks more reliable and to be more weather/water proof than a regular butt connector or t-tap.

I'll likely end up building my own brackets off of the rad support or something and have it sit behind the grill rather than fixed to the back so it requires less slack in the wiring and such. I was also able to google search and find a thread here that showed a build someone else did and they used "vled" ambers and I liked the output ratings on them, they also have their own "splitter" connections which make it simple to wire multiple lights together so I think that's the plan for me now

honestly so do I 100% but I have a second gen and instead of having a normal hood bulge, mine is attached to the grill I'll be eliminating with a PRO Sequoia grille. currently I have an ugly piece of black plastic that fits into where these lights would fit on your truck but it doesn't seem there's a "clean" way to remove that plastic and install ambers without a grill insert.. or without making it look like I just took the bulge out and installed lights, I feel like it would just look hacked

I was on the fence about this mod. I ended up getting amber light kit from autozone. Super bright! I wired them to a separate switch, and run them when its overcast or raining :D
