Mine are holding up well after one NY winter. There is some underside rust but that is to be expected.

I just put down a deposit on 20 Offroad Crewmax, I'm looking at getting the RB20s but wondering if they still look good on a stock offroad with no lifts or wider tires?
Also what finish goes better with Cement or Calvary Blue (not sure which one I'm getting yet), powder coat black or bedliner?

    Nothing but good stuff.
I think they look fine on a stock truck, and I got the standard finish.

Got my RB20’s in today and installed. I saw some people saying the raw metal finish on the pieces that mount to the arms looked horrible. But, it appears they fixed this issue and made them black now.

How far do the RB20s actually stick out? Just curious as far as an aid in door ding protection.

Door dings was the main reason I got my RB20's. IMG_0067.jpgIMG_0067.jpg IMG_0067.jpg

Why backwards? And you mean passenger on driver side and vice versa?

    Your setup looks good!

    Installing “forward” vs “backwards”:

Forward: The notches/holes point towards front of the truck. The small logo/badge will be located at the back of the cab. Also the angle that the board comes back into the truck is different.
This installation has the more gradual angle “skinny” end at the rear, and a “wider” 45 degree angle at the front.
    See white tundra plumber802.

Backwards: notches point towards back and the logo/badge will be towards front of the cab. This installation has the more gradual angle “skinny” end at the front, and a “wider” 45 degree angle at the back.
    See FilthyTundra or Borgs above.

I haven’t heard if there is any performance or installation reasons for either installation choice and it seems to be purely a matter of looks and personal preference. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I’m planning on ordering my RB20’s this spring to replace my chrome OEM tubes but I haven’t decided which way I plan to mount them yet.

Great explanation jlarkin1918, I installed mine the way I did for the reason mentioned. I wanted the skinny end on the front and wide at the back.

Thanks man. I just thought it looked better backwards. I pulled off the logo too because I wanted a clean look.

Just finished my RB20 install. Boards arrived packaged ok but with an inconsistent underside finish. I was planning to de-badge them and bedliner the underside and brackets so I was able to make it consistent.

Nice! Where did you get them for that price? Is that the powder coat or the bed liner finish? thanks

You can find them on Amazon for $354.49, or Autoanything.com will match Amazon's price of $354.49.

Yes, I recall them being on sale at AA, it was over two years ago so perhaps the price has increased. This is the powdercoat finish. I recall seeing lots of problems with the bed liner finish - although perhaps they worked through the quality issues.

These are on the short list but I think getting my bed Line-X'd and replacing the factory bed liner is first. Looks awesome though.

I have heard that dog paws can slip through some models. These appear to be dog friendly. I need something for my 10 year old who has trouble getting in and out of the Tundra.

    Think these will help?

I wanted the RB20 since before I got my tundra. But after seeing the holes in the running boards, decided against it. I have a smaller dog and his foot getting caught in there is a big no no. Genuine issue!

It was a VERY difficult choice but I went with the RB10’sAFBE2B96-C44F-40E7-AB25-CA0E51CC07D9.jpg5F306A9D-BDEE-4692-9A1A-316392F73776.jpg

I will say this. IMHO, the instructions are not clear.
    • They could have labeled the brackets "L" and "R" to eliminate a little confusion.
    • The black and white photos are of little use.
    • After you figure it out, it's just a matter of turning the ratchet, or pulling the trigger on an impact (which I highly recommend), and lining the boards up the way you want to.
    • You might want to lay the boards on the bracket for a dry fit.
    • I don't think it really matters if you want to install the badge toward the front or rear. It's just a matter of personal preference in how YOU you want it to look.

I love my RB20’s! I put them on backwards so the biggest part is in the rear. I have two small kids that go into car seats and even with a 4.5” lift I can get them in easy with the RB20’s. Plus they protect me from door dings and I think they look pretty great. They were also my one and only craigslist “score”, picked up a new set for $100!
