I was on a jobsite once and the rig welder showed up. Mega cab, long bed, dually, lifted at least 12", probably more and running on what looked like 40" tires or bigger. Of course it had all the armor, lightbars etc. This truck was freaking huge. The lease was super tight, he had to make a 20 point turn to get spun around. Guy hopped out of the truck and he was shorter than me. I'm 5'5". He needed a 3 step stool just to open his cabinets and to work off the back of the truck. It was hands down the most ridiculous truck I've seen on site. LOL

Yeah as long as it has SXM from 2019 or newer it’ll do that.

OP- if you don’t mind keeping us updated on the mileage your getting. As well as any problems or good things happening with the truck. Some of us here actually work with our trucks for a living. Getting feedback would be great. Had diesels before (Chevy, Ford, GMC, Isuzu). Either way good looking truck, enjoy in good health!

I forgot what issues occur, but if you don't pull with it, at times, something something happens. @ColoradoTJ can elaborate.

That's awesome and not surprising at all. Rig welders have become the new rig pigs and that guy in the king of rig welders lol. Best part about rig welders is you know when they're 3 miles out - whether it be exhaust or sound system - so they give you time to get set up and be ready for them.

So true. LOL. I ran a few company welding trucks in the field, but made sure to grab the most basic trucks in the fleet. In my helper days I worked out of a Silverado 2500HD extended cab owned by a rig welder who contracted to the company I worked for. It was my favorite rig. Dead nuts reliable Duramax/Alison combo, only a small lift and slightly upsized tires for getting into the bad roads. The skid was 100% aluminum and really well thought out as the welder had designed and built it himself. The whole set up was light, nimble, easy to work out of, fuel efficient compared to most and generally just a pleasure to use. No need for huge lifts, big tires, heavy armor etc.

You’re going to like it better than the Tundra. I came from a Duramax and I miss it. Don’t listen to the people about you having to tow or diesels are bad daily drivers; that’s not true. Just be careful if you go somewhere cold, you’ll want to keep your fuel treated or it’ll gel up.

Hard working blue collared heroes though. Think about everything we use that's welded by a human and there's a welder to thank. Good people.

Last week I got to take a ride in the newer 2020 Ram Limited and gotta say, I was pretty impressed.
Unfortunately a family member lost his 2015 CM 1794 to an electrical fire and replaced it with a 2020 Ram Limited "Night Edition".

The interior of this thing is pretty nice. All leather, heated seats front and back, believe the rear seats even reclined like they did on my old 2011 CM.
Heated steering wheel, 19 speakers (Harmon Kardon) with a 12 inch Uconnect system (Android and Carplay) Under seat storage and in the floor storage as well.

This thing rode exceptionally well and we towed a pontoon boat and didnt even know its was there. May have to consider looking at these when the time comes.

The Cummins are efficient too! Most i've seen are getting 15 city and 20 plus highway, even better once deleted!

Diesel will be nice and the interior looks awesome, but for reasons unclear even to me, I was born physically incapable of purchasing a vehicle made by Chrysler.

Our 2019 Ram 2500 Cummins(not deleted) gets 15 city, maybe 17 highway when not hauling ass. Towing a PJ buggy hauler/trailer(weighs at least 3k) and one ton jeep, 10 MPG.

It’s not great but it’s comfy and reliable.

As soon as your warranty is up delete all of it, if not sooner. EGR, DPF, and DEF, then you will really see how strong that Cummins is, and you’re fuel economy will jump up too.

We added 285/75/18 Toyo RTs a couple months after getting it. He tracks his mileage, before we added Toyos, five tanks averaged 15 MPGs. Mileage hasn’t changed since the tire swap.
