    Patiently trying to wait for this, but my head stock JBL Premium head unit doesn’t seem to like my amp and likes to drop channels randomly.

    Trying not to break down and get the normal double din size with wireless CarPlay.

    Yall should hold out for the Kenwood. It's not not as sleek as the Pioneer, but Kenwood is leaps ahead of Pionner(at least in recent years). Plus it should come with wireless screen mirroring. A nifty feature on my 9906xr. Not something to be used all the time, bit it does get a bunch of ooooooooo's and ahhhhh's when I show it off.

    I believe the pioneer has wifi-miracast where you can wireless screen mirror.

    So how does the wireless android auto work exactly? I've read the vehicle needs it's own wifi that the phone connects to or something along those lines to have a powerful enough connection to the wireless AA...

    You first connect the phone to your head unit via USB then one you make the initial connect the gpone and the head unit will connect via direct wifi. It has nothing to do with the vehicle. When wireless Android was first release it had lots of disconnect issues.

    I’ve been following this thread as I’m thinking of upgrading from the stock unit. Just saw that they have this unit in stock now at Crutchfield with a June 1 delivery day. I think I may also go for it. Interested to see how your install goes.

    A local car shop has them in stock and has installed them in a few cars. I'm personally waiting for the kenwood 10 inch version.

    Unit came in on Saturday. Will take it in to the audio shop some time this week so that my guy can make sure all the needed parts are there for install. I ordered it myself, and just picked the biggest / most comprehensive installation kit option Crutchfield provided. Then will make my full install appointment.

    I haven’t driven the truck for about two months since I have just been driving my work truck and the 4Runner. So will probably get it installed more towards the middle of the month.
