Possibly. There's something psychologically relaxing knowing that you have this stuff nearby. I live in Grande Prairie, so it's roughly a 2 hour drive to get into this kind of country. I honestly have very little interest in going to Mexico, Vegas or other typical vacation spots. My only interest in world travel is either for historical reasons or fishing and hunting.

Didn't get to it last weekend, but working on it today! Great day for some detailing.

That reminds me, I need to get a set of those brushes. That can wait until Tuesday though. I drove past Crappy Tire today and the parking lot was packed with a line up of people outside. I refuse to stand in a line up to get into a store.

We got to the Ukrainian Tire at just the right time today. No lineup to get in the garden centre and no lineup when we went to pay. The lineup at the cashier grew behind us and there was a lineup to get in when we left.

I had 17 bags of dirt and mulch in the back of the truck but I didn't take a picture because my hands weren't clean.

Costco was a freaking zoo today but we needed some weekend meats and gardening plants.

Luckily, they offer front of the line for my wife and I due to jobs, so we got in quickly. But there was a mile long line to get to the produce and the checkout

Much different than ever a week ago when it was a ghost town inside

We went to Costco last month. 15 minute wait to get inside (which seriously chaps my ass and I nearly bailed but The Woman stopped me), but once were in it was like being there first thing in the morning pre-panic. The parking lot was full today, but I didn't look long enough to see if there was a line.

I don't play well in lines to begin with. I'm become real unpleasant when I consider the lines to be pointless and ineffectual feel-good measures.

And many lines have pointless signs that some people think a perfectly accurate 2m spacing. Was in line at Lowe's today and one guy snapped at me, my wife, and FIL saying we were too close and the sign is at 6ft spacing. I'm sitting there snickering cause I do measurements as a job so I can eyeball 2m pretty good, and the signs were probably closer to 4m apart. If I was stuck being close to people all the time I'd probably carry a hockey stick so there would be zero question if there was 6ft spacing.

Yep. Unless you're me and your hockey stick is well under 6ft. I like to say that if I can stick you with the bayonet on my SKS, you're too effin' close. I was saying stuff like that pre-panic anyways. :D

Of course people also only observe the 6ft while in line. Once you're in a store and walking the aisles, all bets are off. Especially in a place like China Tire, which loves to pile crap in the walkways.

Yes it’s made of chain links haha. It’s just an EBay grill. Once I’m done it will have the Toyota badge on it.

Speaking of products being in the mail, one of the positives I've found coming out of the Rona situation is that I have grown pretty friendly with the UPS man Canada Post Lady and the Purolator man. First name basis, they have treats for my dog and and UPS man loves my truck. He sends me pics of reg cab tundras all the time and has wanted one since he replaced his taco with a silveradao.

    Haha

    Hi how’s it going?!
wanted to ask you, the wheels on your truck, are they replicas or real trd wheels.
My brother wants to buy those wheels for his first gen but he’s scared replicas will peel or go weird lol. I told him they should be fine and are way cheaper!
    What you think?

It's going. Milking the government benefits for all I can these day. LOL.

Mine are real TRD wheels. I ordered them off Ebay from a Toyota dealership in the USA, somewhere in California iirc. I considered replicas and almost bought a set off Kijiji but with where the exchange rate was at the time, it wasn't much more for the real deal. I can't really speak to the quality of the replicas as I never actually got hands on with them, just saw them online. I'd assume they'd be fine. I don't remember running into any real negative reviews. If the coating peels, I'd guess you could have them powdercoated.

I paid around $900 CAD give or take a bit after exchange and duty. Our dollar wasn't in the toilet so badly back then though. Local dealership quoted me damn near $1600. The replicas I was eyeing were around ths $800 point so he's in the ballpark there.

    Function before sparkle.
Question: when a dealership does undercoating on a new truck, is it normal to do just the underbody and not the frame?

I always thought undercoating included the frame.

No more camping haha. We are most likely going to have to move to Whitecourt here this year. My job role is changed along with the location. When we move, we’re upgrading to an acreage. Once we on land, I’m sure we won’t have money or time for camping haha. Just thinning out the heard is all. We’ll have another at some point. But not for a couple years most likely.
