So I decided to tackle a project this morning, while it was cool & breezy.

The clear bra material stone guards had served their purpose, and they were looking rather shabby.

    IMG_7580.jpg

    IMG_7581.jpg

I purchased one of those decal removal wheels, but that only made matters worse and removed some paint at the very bottom. I'm sure my drills RPMs were too high, but what a mess (the yellow stuff is what came off the wheel).

I grabbed a bottle of automotive Goo-Gone plus the widest trim removal tool in my kit, and went to work skinning my truck. Much to my surprise, as I peeled the bra off the spots underneath turned out to be nothing more than dirt - no chips in the paint. I will remove the remaining adhesive later today when I have some shade to work in.

Swapped my Fox racing hitch back in and put some shackles on. Looking into painting the bumper with liner- is spray or roll better for someone with limited talent?

Well, that didn’t take long to buff the fresh bedliner off haha. I welded a built-in recoiling cable bike lock yesterday. It’s a toy-loc branded lock FYI. I’ll probably add a plate for the lock pin on the bed floor at some point also.

Lol, defensive!!! I wasn't implying anything. Supposedly American lock makes pretty good locks though. I did a bunch of research when I bought locks for my toolbox.

Oh ok just messing round haha. These American Lock’s are the best locks I’ve ever had. I have four key matched blue ones. I’ve been using them for various things for about 6 years now. They have been outside for the majority of the time. They all work perfectly still, which is highly impressive :)

not so much today but this weekend a lot done on my 08. early 90k service including 60k supercharger service. i'm at 84k miles. had master tech (same guy that installed charger 10yrs ago) inspect belt, pulley and check for cam tower issues in addition to standard service checks. came back with a clear report. whew. he has a boosted mustang so we talk cars when i go in and he wipes down my engine bay :). talks about the truck like it was his which is what i want. feel lucky to have that rapport established.

changing out the roof moldings. one in stock and installed now, the other is back ordered but should be in soon. excuse the dirt. it's going in soon for detail. also changed out my front window belt moldings (no pics).

    IMG_3616.jpg

    IMG_3618.jpg

last, started my filler/extension panel color match replacement project for changing out my headlights to morimoto's. the body shop that repainted the top part of my bumper broke off the little plastic guide pins, didnt tell me and used some sort of plaster to seal them on :(. so picked up replacements so the job can be done right. i'm following this great thread to get a quality diy paint job. first part done, scuffing. then i ran out of time.

had them do it since they lumped in the labor together for a bunch of molding swaps but it's easy from what they said. there are some clips that hold them in so need to be careful not to break those. i always break clips lol and seeing that they've been on the roof for 12 years in CA sun, clips are prob gonna break so letting them deal with it. sounds like they are the two piece clips...like the ones that hold the sail panels in. a white and yellow piece. maybe someone else can chime in to validate.

At least at my factory American locks is standard LO/TO equipment. Its good shit.

There are AL locks outside that have been in the weather here for 14(?) years. Still golden.
