Just looking for the correct offset that will help me avoid chopping (trimming is no big deal). Stock atm, but I will be putting a lift on with 6112/5160. 2.5 is my ideal but I’ll go as high as I need to avoid chopping.

    thank in advance.

    Thanks
So +35 is guarantee no rub, +25 is most likely no rub?

Not sure if this helps or not as it’s a different wheel size but I’m running 295/70/18 with a zero offset and have minimal rubbing when reversed on full lock. Also leveled with a 3-1 kit

I’m rubbing on the body mount.

I’m running a High clearance front bumper but before i got it it wouldn’t rub on the bumper at all

I’m at stock height with +25 and have very light rubbing on the plastic liner in front of the tire, more on the driver side than anything. I did have to remove front mud flaps.

I'm running 6112's up front with a +20 and 295's. I also have a slight rub @ full lock in reverse. Every Tundra is different. You should be good +25 and up

It's more your offset and width of tire. You have plenty as far as height.

I just added that same Bilstein mod. 6112's front at 2.5" and 5100's rear. Falken Wildpeak 295/70 R18. No rub on the front, but was scraping the skid plate at full lock foward and reverse. I pulled the skid plate and used my grinder to trim a curve at the back corners of the skid plate. Problem solved. This is on OEM TRD Sport wheels with zero offset. I'm guessing that - offset wheels would accomplish the same. YMMV.

Unless you have wheel spacers the offset on those TRD wheels are +60

My bad Bravohook. +60 on my wheels. No wonder the skid plate rubbed.

this has me confused a bit. I thought the greater the positive offset the further the inside edge would be from the potential rub...

I was just mildly correcting a post. The wheels he are using are +60 offset by 8" wide Offset is not the only factor when your worried about rubbing. Tire width and height will pose an issue as well. Offset is not the end all. As stated above all trucks are going to be different.

It is confusing, but + offset will move the wheels inboard, while - offset will result in the wheels sitting outboard and thus a wider stance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-S5Qicb31Y

I have Method NV 18x9 +25 offset on 295/70/18 Toyo AT 2 Extremes. Very very slight rub on front liner. No rubbing on the body.

Did a BMC need to happen on your wheel and tire choice per the Tundra?

Go +25. I have the Bilsteins 6112/5160 with 2.5 lift. No trimming, just elongated the holes of the front liner and pushed liner forward then tightened bolts. Also removed mud guard. No problems
