Blackouts just arrived

Blackouts arrived. I'll be throwing them on today and post a before and after.

Not bad. I ordered color matched bumper cap covers, grill surround, and bulge too. I'll update when they arrive.

 

Overlays?

 

Yep, overlays from Toyota. Perfect fit

That's next on my list. Just had my wheels powdercoated black, so saving my $$$ to do it. Chipping away at the chrome a little bit at a time.

What tint level did you use on the front windows... I need to do that too.

 

I don't remember the tint level. I went to my local tint guy and said match the rear windows the best you can and this is what I got.

 

Check your local laws for legal limits for tint.

 

I did 15% ceramic on my '19 DC and it's pretty dang close to the factory rear tint.

 

To be honest, I think this is the same since it sounds familiar.

I love the black badging! It came on my TSS Edition here in Texas. Then I bought some matching black overlays for the back “Tundra.” Looks really good.

 

I bought the overlays from Toyota of Cool Springs. Part number PT948-34181-02.

I was fortunate and the truck came with black inserts on the tailgate when I purchased the truck.

 

But do check your local dealership and others. You may save on shipping locally and I found that the different dealership pricing varies greatly.

 

I got mine cheaper at the dealership and they had some black "limited" overlays on hand that they gave me for free. The kit only comes with the SR5 overlay and the Limited set is expensive to buy separate.

Honestly one of the most simple mods that makes a subtle but noticeable difference. Looks great.

I got the bulge and surround from @Roman - (Toyota dealership parts guy) and the bumper overlays from Ecological. They look and fit perfectly. I'll post photos later.

Super easy and perfect fit. I couldn't be happier, so far. Basically, you take a few screws and bolts out and clean the surfaces well. Dry fit, pull them half way off and remove the plastic strips from the adhesive and push them back into place. Put the screws and/or bolts back in to hold everything firmly in place. Done deal. Took me all of 30 min to do all 4.

 

I'll be at work until Monday but will try to post a photo when I get home. I also got a color match shell put on. Together this looks like a different truck. Chrome delete and all MGM with black overlays. I'm liking it.
