It looks good but I wouldn't want it if it's not functional. It's already bad enough having a fake one on the hood bulge.

Well I think that would be another subject for debate..
I know a few folks that say if the scoop/bulge was "functional" (on tundra+other models) it would create some type of vacuum in the engine bay at higher speeds, which we wouldn't want. With this vacuum in the back the heat recirculates within and does not escape.
I assume maybe idling you would reap the benefits of the heat escaping through the scoops/bulge.

Also on the other hand few after market companies make glass hoods w/ scoops and are proven to help prevent heat soak.. I'm sure that the S/C guys will benefit off the scoops.

Or unless you make a Ram duct to your intake through the scoop/ bulge.

here is some reading that explains different types. For the most part most of toyotas scoops are pure cosmetic out the box.

One of the thing I HATE about the Tundra is the shoddy headlights. Now it comes with LED but is it just a new DRL or FULLY LED Headlights?

I think its a full LED.. The headlights actually look like the BMW LED headlights.. Which are really nice! Would love to see them beamed.
I wonder if it would be compatible with the previous gens, since it has the Auto Hi beam features.. I'm sure its just a sensor we can bypass.

That's a good article on scoops. Always wondered about the backward scoops. Dude, I'm too old to ride my bike in mud. I'll probably break my neck. I'm taking the truck. Just wondering if it's going to be too muddy.

It will be interesting to see if they price me into an 18 or a 17 with the changes. The headlights and autolights are the big upgrade to me on the 18. Not sure if I care for the grill or hood scoop. Interested to see the billet grill on the Limited/1794/Platinum.
