What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

How do people think its a good idea to drive drunk? I got behind the wheel just to pull out of the yard, and into the driveway. Got 15 feet from where I was, and was like "Fuck, I can't read the instrument cluster. ."

Trucks still in the yard. I'll wait till I'm sober.

I honestly had a ton of fun and wouldn’t trade it for anything. We had a cool troop, mainly “boy” run. We choose what we wanted to do, where we went and how we did it, all a learning experience which was great

 

Listen, I know how this is going to sound because I already threw it out there. Typically, when I'm sober I never brag, and in fact always "down talk" myself. The opposite of boasting.

I am not uh, how would you say "clear heardered?" Right now?

Story time: My aunt Kim, mom, and me went Kayaking with her church's scout troop. This is after I had been "out" of scouts for quite some time.

We were on the water for 2 out of the 4 hours to make the trip. A young scout had cruised up next to me, we got talking about scouts, and what not. He couldn't have been above a tender foot.

I asked him the usual small tulk questions. Making chit chat, and he surprised me by asking how I knew so much about the scouts. I told him that I was an Eagle scout.

His eyes got all bug eyed, and he yelled back to the other 40 scouts that I was an eagle scout. They all started paddling hard to come talk to me. That was a very eye opening experience for me. I talked to most of them even though I was panicking because I do not do well with crowds.

After that I keep quiet about everything in real life, and just try to move along.

Job wise: very helpful as you said. I am not going to post anymore tonight.

So when my bumper got ripped off by my brothers winch last weekend from getting stuck in some snow. And the bedsides were wrinleled up a little from it. I finaly sent it on a high clearance rear tube bumper to match my front and to wrap around the bedsides ive cut off. (Yes thats how i marked my bedsides, a line with my finger through the mud)



I am planning on doing a dual triangulated 4 link sas on thw front of this thing and running 40s over the summer. Ill keep you guys up to date on that maybe (thats a big maybe seeing as my last post was about 300 pages ago on this thread) should i start a build thread?

 

Guys. I’m really worried about all this fire burning. We just had Mother Earth healing a little bit from reduced traffic on the roads. I think I just felt a little rain drop.

 

PHM, everything I burned last night was 100% natural from the trees in the yard to the flame. If I had been burning tires, and large amounts of plastic... things would be different.

The 50% ceramic tint is what I use on my windshield. Barely noticeable but reduces glare from oncoming traffic headlights, blocks uv rays and has a high heat rejection similar to 5% metal tint. Worth the extra $$$

 

That Ceramic Tint is well worth it. Night and day difference in heat/cool during the summer sun bake.

Did both my sides in light tint a few years ago. Might do the front windshield in clear ceramic, as it has the same reflective heat reduction qualities tinted or not.

Today so far I’ve removed my front Swaybar (Broke a link anyways, and I think it’s rattling because the stock end links are too short) and also did a little investigating on my CV axles. I’ve discovered that the drivers side shaft slides in and out of the ends freely, but the passenger side feels locked or stuck.

I have my old ones that the stealership removed, and those all slide in and out freely, so I’m thinking I have a locked cv axle, and that’s what’s causing my vibration.

anyone have any thoughts?

 

Sounds plausible based on others thoughts. Maybe rebuild your OEM? axles before installing them. I see that boot kits are available, but what else goes into a CV axle rebuild?

How does one remove a stuck axle?

 

I don’t have OEM axles is the problem. The ones in the garage are aftermarket as well. The problem is, high angle boots kits are going to be $100 for both sides, so then I may as well buy new axles, and at that point it’s another $150-200 if I’m getting aftermarket ones, and at that point I may as well buy CVJ Toyota remans with high angle boots installed.

removal won’t be an issue. No different than removing a normal one.

Yeah. Its a slippery slope. I have after market axles, as well. Should requested the Toy cores when the shop removed them but wasn’t thinking. My truck has a slight vibe (sometimes) on 90° turns going from a stop to about 10 mph. Over that speed it goes away. Been thinking its the LSD, but now that I am thinking it might be my cheapy axles because it wasn’t there before them.

Either way it will cost dearly as its about $600 for those CVJ remans or about $850 for brand new Toyotas shipped to the door.

 

I’d like to know where to source those high angle silicone boots from CVJ reman. I’d like some in black versus the red.

I’m wondering if you can help me out? I also have an ‘02 and want to eliminate ~ 2/3 of the width of the back seat (one seat and the center portion). Mine is a bench seat though, the seat back splits but the bottom is one solid piece. What was yours like and what did you do? I think I read that you kept some back seating....

Anybody else have input on this? Know what seat options there were for our 1st gens, even what other vehicles’ seats would fit? I’ll appreciate all advice. Thanks in advance.
