I added a basketball goal and playing area to my driveway. First game of horse was played last night with my two sons. Unfortunately the shots of us playing together won't upload. My iPhone utilized the photo's in the "HEIF" format which is not yet supported on the forum. Most important thing.....Dad 1....boys 0. ;)

Just hired a guy to do the following:
Bury a few inches of this trampoline into the ground and surround it with rubber mulch under. Additionally, remove the grass for that area, cap, and relocate the sprinklers in that area.

For the siding of the stamped concrete: Add a retainer and backfill with rocks. This will eliminate the grass growing against the concrete where I don’t need to whack it with the trimmer.
He should begin working Wednesday or Thursday.

My site work guys have most of my 2’x2’x6’ limestone retaining wall done. There will be a parking area behind the retaining wall with a walkway towards the barn. 63AC4DDA-913E-4026-97D6-A4BA518D3E13.jpg
I had my framers build a 25’x50’ storage building for bedding & hay. The whole structure will have a stucco exterior with (3x) 12/0x12/0 garage doors. I’ll have gable vents, lower wall vents and ridge vents for better air circulation for the hay. The interior walls will have hardi sheathing. I wanted to do a steel building but the cost for traditional framing was a lot cheaper and my framers did the whole shell in three days.

This thread is amazing. Thank you all for sharing.

I hope to have a house built on my land, but I have a question about the exterior. I have no clue on this kind of stuff, so I am asking the experts here. I am not a huge fan of vinyl siding as it doesn't do great in heavy wind, and Wyoming has lots of that. I've heard that brick has quite a bit of maintenance if you want it to last. I am kind of leaning toward stucco, but I don't know what kind of maintenance is required or it's long term durability. What's your recommendation for low maintenance and durable home exteriors in a high wind, beating sun, freezing winter type of environment?

    Sorry, think you've heard wrong.

Just make sure there's no seeping or plants growing up the brick and you're ok.

And this is why I ask the experts. I think it was something about having to reseal or redo the mortar between the bricks. I forget exactly what it was.:anonymous:

Looks like rain today so I can’t use yard work to hide from my “honey do” list. So, new sink and tub fixtures are first on the list, after coffee.
Added this to the back porch a couple of weeks ago.

I'm no expert but I've been in a brick house for nearly 30 years. Only thing I do is make sure moisture doesn't build up, stop things growing on it you know. I've heard about having to reseal but that's only after damage is done.

I had to pull the fridge because wifey wanted to clean under it.

So, while it was out, I cut the drywall and studs out. Laid cross bracing on flat to the two outside studs. Gained 2.5” of fridge notch space into the wall. I didn’t take before pics, I’m sure you can imagine the fridge 2.5” out. Happy with this free space score :D
