Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

Thanks for the heads up, here in WI we have Pick N Save brand grocery stores, I've seen the metal labels on them there before.

When I first started drinking whiskey I read thewhiskeyjug.com because I had no idea on differences between stuff. Sometimes I look back on the reviews to see what my thoughts on taste compares. Anyway I was reading his old review on Bulleit (2014) as I have a bottle now, does anyone know if it's still made by four roses? Thought that was pretty interesting.

Pretty sure they are fully distilling their own sauce nowadays...I like Bulleit rye, but their bourbon just isnt my jam...at all.

 

Not sure how I missed this thread! Lots of great bourbons out there and living in Kentucky means most of them are within 45 minutes of the house!

Opened this Four Roses SB. Really good bourbon and you can find it for $30-$35 most places on sale.

 

Stopped at the store on the way home. Ready for the long weekend. Hope this is enough.

Woodford Reserve is an awesome bourbon IMO.

No need to apologize. The beauty of this hobby is taste is subjective and people can enjoy different drams. New Riff is garnering a following, but if someone does not like the flavor profile of rye, this would not be their jam. More for me.

 

Loved the vanilla/caramel tones in the 21yr, a lovely dram that is.

The Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask is awesome. It’s a regular in my home bar. Super smooth. Sweet but not offensive. Very subtle hints of spice from the rum casks. It’s about $70/750ml. Well worth it.
I’m not a fan of the regular Woodford Reserve Bourbon. This Double Oaked though is also a regular in my home bar. Lots of oak and vanilla, brown sugar and leather. $58/750ml.

 

Been collecting for a bit... need to drink faster as keeping these fresh is the hardest part.

Prefer the Elmer out of these. Although the eagle is a barrel pick and is the best Eagle I’ve had.


It’s really hard to beat Blanton’s


Really enjoying this Old Forrester Single barrel, tremendous value.


4 Roses single and IW 15 both good. Don’t feel the love for McKenna for the attention it’s getting.


I do like Lagavulin 16 a lot. Working on adding more to the scotch collection.


Not whiskey but my current favorite rum and love making old fashioned with this.

Nice! My local Total Wine got a ~15 year old Knob Creek pick last year too, I’m enjoying the last of it right now.

This just came in the mail. The regular Elijah Craig is probably my favorite budget bourbon. Excited to try this one.

 

The current 'Rona situation has been depleting the liquor cabinet at a staggering pace.

But I try and keep most of the staples in rotation.

The GF always has some random wine in the mix along with her disgusting cinnamon stuff. But I try and make up for it with decent brown water.

 

Where are all you guys finding Weller?!?!

Basil Hayden and Bib & Tucker are my go to

 

Makers Mark, Jamesons, Bulleit, Bushmills, Crown Royal, Laphroaig. In no particular order, depending on the mood.

 

I really like EC too, but the barrel proof is so hot and spicy. Not to mention it will get you where you are going in a hurry!

 

Not truly a whiskey itself, but it does have whiskey. I just found something I like more than Mike's Hard Lemonade:
