I have used the eagle black and plastic coated wheel cleaner on my dipped wheels and loved it.....sprayed from a different sprayer lol. It is indeed good stuff

Griots has their new ceramic 3 in 1....which has been getting very good reviews and will fit the bill for protection

Just the fact that its recycled water, hit it with some ech20 after or make some Elixir to use. Make sure you dry it off too but its fine really.

Got this a couple days ago and I gotta say it works great on matte and I’m not a huge cg fan. Does anyone have experience with reload on matte?

Gotcha. I don’t have ech20 I’ll put it on the list. Have a bunch of reload and elixir. Any how thanks again for all the advice on taking care of the tundra it’s become a new found hobby. We went to the range today and got slammed by bugs but it was surprising easy to deal with.

I applied some shine supply trim shine yesterday to my mirrors and door handles quickly. I didn't have much time so it was kind of just a test. The stuff is a thick gel that I applied with a terry applicator, it goes on pretty easy and buffs off but most had absorbed into the plastic. It Buffs off paint easily and looks really really good. I didn't have time for pics but will get some soon. I also applied waxaddict tyre feeder to the top bedrails, this morning after work and some light rain I noticed the waxaddict had run down the bed sides but there was zero run off from the mirrors or handles. Seems promising so far. Ill do some more testing but so far so good.

Question about carpros hydro2. I see a small container at 100 ml, that would be diluted at 6 to 1? If so you'd have 700 ml or approx 24 oz. How much of that would normally be used to treat your truck one time? Thanks.

Hard to say cuz I don't remember but I think i use around 300-400ml for my truck each time. But I could be way off. So this has not been helpful at all.

We had the wife's 4runner coated with ceramic pro. What are people using for a wash and quick detail spray that's safe with ceramic coatings?

I dilute it 6 to 1, but others dilute it more. Instructions on the bottles vary on occasion. I haven’t ever measured it out, but you barely want to use any at all. Just spray a minimal amount per panel.

If I had to absolutely guess, I’d say maybe four ounces. I mix it into a 32 oz bottle and the level in the bottle has barely moved after doing a Tundra.

That 100 ml bottle will last a while then. How often would you apply it to keep the protection and do you use anything else with it?

A bottle definitely lasts a while. I’ve been using it since 2017. At one point, I put it on every vehicle I did. Still use it on most of them. Even with all of that use, plus giving some away, I still have about half of the second 500ml bottle I bought. My wife got me a 1 liter bottle for Christmas that I still haven’t opened.
The listing for it on Amazon says “Only 40ml needed per average 4 door vehicle including all paint, glass, trim & wheels”. That’s an ounce and a half, so my 4 ounce guess was actually high even adding more for a Tundra.

The durability is subjective. Hydro2 adds no gloss, so I always end up putting something on top of it like Beadmaker or wax. (That answers your second question.) Since I don’t use it on it’s own, I’ll just pass on what I’ve read of others’ experiences, which tends to be 3-4 months between applications.

I did a friend’s truck last year and used Hydro2 and Beadmaker. He still had beading nearly six months later. (Don’t know at what point it finally wore off completely.) I know the Beadmaker didn’t last that long, but it likely extended the life of the Hydro2 by a month or two.

Thanks for the info. I did see that 40 ml per but wasn't sure if they meant 40 ml of the undiluted or 40 ml after being diluted 6-1.

I assume 40 ml before dilution. This is the only video I could find where the guy didn’t use way too much.

I have been using CG cutting a polishing compound I have V line up. Not very stoked with it. What cutting and polishing compound do you guys recommend that better than CG V series?

Tough to beat the tried and true combo of Meguiars M105/M205 for compound and polish. That being said, there are lots of options out there. I'd also consider the line of Griots Garage BOSS creams . For a hybrid, I use 3D One....cuts well and finishes very nicely.

The Meguiars products should be locally available, where the Griots stuff would likely have to be ordered. You have two levels of compound with the BOSS creams.....Fast Correcting cream (heavier cut) and Correcting cream (moderate cut) .....and Perfecting Cream (polish). What pads do you have?

Running CG hex logic pads, I have the whole set. Sounds like I need Correcting cream and Perfecting cream. Scratches and swirls are not super heavy. My wife RAV4 has years of scratches and swirls.

My son's truck is an 2002 chevy 1500 that has pin stripes. Do I need to mask those off before polishing?

Also, I'm assuming its safe to compound and polish the lower section of the Tundra that is textured?

    Thanks for all the help!
