Chrome cleaning

    2013 Silver Tundra Crewmax 4x4 Platinum Edition
    I was very hesitant to buying the 7yr old truck out of CO that I purchased. I crawled all up under it. It's clean as can be as far as paint and underbody. My question concerns the chrome. All the chrome, bumpers, and trim alike have a stain/residue/rust. Has anyone else experienced this kind 0f chemical issue? If so, what was your resolution? Tried a chrome cleaner polish/cleaner with a 0000 steel wool. Not abrasive enough? Thoughts?

    When I bought my old 2nd gen Dodge Ram it had been sitting outside for 3 years without being moved or washed. I tried an SOS pad and it cleaned up the chrome bumpers and wheels up perfectly

    I have been using Simichrome polish on my motorcycles for the past 50 years (did I really say 50 years?!?!?). Anyway, I love this stuff, it works on chrome, aluminum, just about anything.

    TRD Pro grille, 2018 LED Headlights, Undercover Flex bed cover, Neoprene seat covers, Bed/tailgate mats, Power tailgate lock, auto headlights, illuminated key switch
    Don't use 0000 steel wool with anything to polish chrome. It's great for flattening the finish on wood for a final coat simply because it's a finer abrasive than almost any sand paper. The clear bright shine of chrome plating will never come back using steel wool. Apply Simichrome, Flitz, or similar metal polish using a sewn cloth buffing wheel in a power tool.
