Rigid LED Foglight fuse keeps blowing!

Team, looking for some guidance. I bought my 2020 TRD Pro last December and immediately added brackets because the fog lights vibrated too much during normal driving. The fog lights were working fine up until last week when I noticed they weren’t turning on.

I checked the FR FOG fuse in the fuse panel by the battery and confirmed that it was blown. I replaced the fuse, turned on the foglight switch and it popped immediately.

Not sure what else to check. The only electronic aftermarket device I’ve added is the pedal commander. I’d like to exhaust every option I can before taking it to the dealer just to get blamed for something unrelated like suspension work or the pedal commander.

Start at the fog lights and inspect the wiring. It sounds like a chafed wire that is shorting out.

 

Fuses blow because the current draw is more than the fuse allows. Generally this is caused by a short.

easy to test.

buy several of the fuses. Unplug both lights. Replace fuse. Plug in one light. Test. If it doesn’t pop plug in next light. Fuse should then pop. This will identify which light has a problem. When you know which one, look at the wiring. More than likely the aftermarket wiring chaffed and is shorting. Aftermarket stuff always breaks.
