So after doing a lot of research it seems like Dirtydeeds and Bamuffler is the way to go. Tons of positive reviews and I have yet to find a bad review online. I think the 8” will be more fitting to my needs. I’ve seen some people have gone from 6 to 8 but haven’t seen anyone go the other way around hence this poll. I think this will also help people out there like me that are deciding between these 2.

There are more options than just 6" & 8"... I went with a custom cat-back from Keith with 16", 10" and 8.5" mufflers.

I wanted the quietest free flowing cat-back for my RCSB, one that was not much louder than stock, but nobody offered one. Keith actually listened to what I wanted, and this is what he came up with... I love it.

Here is the stock muffler when it was dumped ahead of the axle.

Here is the BAMuffler with a factory tail pipe cut off after the last hanger.

Yeah keith offers so much customization to whatever needs you may have. It just seems that the most popular are the standard 6 and 8. And that’s where people (including me) tend to have a hard time choosing which one and some give up and split the difference with a 7”.

someone who does this accepts and enjoys drone. I for one like a little drone so never used the resonator

10inch SS.. Keith said 10in would be better if you tow much.. Took his word! Have not need to install the resonator. Sound is impressive and I’ve noticed a slight increase in MPG when cruising on the highway. Don’t really care about that but was nice to see.

Loud yes, some drone but I dont mind it. Its not unbearable. Mufflers wont really save you from drone though, thats why Keith sells the resonators for those that need them.

Have you guys towed at all without the resonator? If you have, is the drone annoying on the highway? I have the 10" SS on order and was wondering if I should install the resonator right away or not. I'm also worried it might be too close to stock with it on.

I have a stainless steel 8" system with a brand new resonator for sale, for cheap if anyone wants it. The system is great. No drone. I only have about 15k on my truck and its all been highway with the 8". 3 year old, 6 year old and wife all loved it.

I don't tow so can't comment there but highly suggest to install it first and run it for maybe a week or 2 or however long before you decide to cut the hole or not. Even with a hole, Keith sells a plate cover to cover the hole up if you want to remove the resonator

I’ve towed light loads 2-3k and no noticeable difference.. Will be towing heavier loads soon 6-8k.. Keith suggested not to install the resonator at first. For now I’m not planning on installing it? If the drone is bad with heavier loads then I might? Right now there is a slight drone at about 65mph in 6th gear low rpm. I’m seldom at that speed for long! When towing heavier loads I doubt The truck will be at that same gear and rpm often? I’ll know soon!

I started with the budget which was awesome but had some complaints in early hours leaving for work, some drone on the highway and have a baby on the way. Switched it out to a 10” and it sounds great (similar to the TRD). Quiet at start up, no drone and you can hear it when you step on it. I would of went with the 8” but didn’t want to risk still having issues with it being too loud. Go with the 8!

I am currently testing out the elongated resonator Keith sent me, so far so good and as soon as it dries up I will slide under the truck to inspect my installation. Less drone in the cabin is a good thing.

The longer one is for those that have to shorten their tail pipe, everybody else gets the standard resonator.
