Window vent shades

Looking for any pros/cons and any recommendations on best fit/best brands. Thanks

 

Weathertech in channels came on my 2018 and they're already flopping around. They're held in place by compression rather than tape. I've had good luck with AVS in channels in the past and they use tape. Probably going to pick a set of those up here soon.

 

I've had these for about a year and they've held up very well. They're nice and low profile.

I have the in channel Auto Ventshades on my DC and love them. They also have a lifetime warranty.

 

I've had my Weathertech inchannel for about a year and I've had 0 issues. Absolutely love em.

 

I've always used Ventshade throughout the years and love them.

Are those noted in-channel or outside mount? Cant tell from the description.

 

I have the weathertech in channel, no problem at all so far, it’s only been 2 months so time will tell

 

They are outside mount. I remember having to notch part of the side mirror where the vent shade mounts. You can just shove them under it, but then it kinda bulges out a bit. I notched it because of that and I was putting tow mirrors on anyway. Hope that makes sense...

are these applied with double sided tape? or there clip ones?

 

The ones I posted use 3M tape.

 

WeatherTech in channel. I tried the Auto Ventshade based upon recommendations here, and I don't know if I was sent a fake product or if it's just how they are, but they were flimsy with ragged edges and they were sent back.

 

That sucks man. I've been using AVS for 20+ years and never had an issue.

I chose the EGR Matte Black in channel for my truck and love them. Super easy install and perfect fit. On my wife’s Escalade we have weathertech and the quality and fit of the EGR is so much better. Just my personal experience though.

You did a nice job trimming it, i saw the other thread when you did it.

 

In 2015 I bought in-channel AVS for my 2014 DC.
They stuck out to far from the window and looked terrible, front and rear.
Sent them back and bought weather tech.
Front are held in by compression, but I went ahead and put 3M molding tape on them since I had it.
Rear ones have tape on them already.
So far so good..

I know this is an old post but I've had the Weathertech for a while now (5 years) . They are in channel and terrible in the winter, constantly falling out when things are cold and the channel is frozen. They are ok in the summer. When the window goes up every now an then on the passenger size it stops and won't roll up. I'm biting the bullet and trying the stick on ventshade today.

 

I've got stick-on on my '08 and in-channel on my '21...

I prefer the look of in-channel, but the stick-ons certainly don't move around or do weird shit w/the temp changes!

I'm assuming you're somewhere cold, so just make sure when installing the stick-ons you heat the surface and sticky tape a bit w/heat gun or hair dryer so they adhere properly
