    This.

All this thread has convinced me of is not to base purchases solely (or even mainly) on the recommendations of a public forum. While I'm 100% sure the OP could possibly have handled this better (which he's admitted to), I'm also 100% sure others who have expressed all sorts of frustration and lost their temper could have handled this better as well. I've worked customer support for 20+ years; and I've also been on the other side (responding to customer support screwups) for 20+ years. Reactions on a public forum have *NEVER* worked out best, for any side involved. If I've ever had issues I handle them privately.

thats exactly why I regret buying his product. From the very beginning I have been patient and trying to follow his instructions. But he changes his procedure and misses dead lines all the time. Then, when I say anything, he attacks me and blames me and belittles me because I "cant follow his directions"

yeah this is definitely not a full custom tune. He modifies some shift points and thats about it. The main reason I bought was to remove the throttle limits in 4wd but I cant tell a difference on the exact same trail. The shifting is different than factory, but it doesnt blow my mind

You can get up to 25hp more than OV Tune on a NA truck with HP tune and custom dyno tuner...

Right or wrong doesn’t even matter at this point, we’re way passed that.
This is a lesson in what NOT to do on a public forum as it relates to customer service.

I'm sure if you are just coming into this thread you think "damn this company is the worst" "how dare they" etc.
But if you have been around a while you understand exactly where I am coming from.

You can post your opinion of our tune but don't post things that are outright false, and that's outright false.

That is my opinion. I cant tell the difference between your tune and factory other than some shift points feel different and tow haul intermittently locks into higher gears even if you floor it

Haha. I know him very well. And he’s literally the most knowledgeable person I know. Atleast about Tundras and wheeling. I think that’s the problem here. You’re treating him like he’s one of these guys here trying to improve his camper towing. A bunch of us have been waiting to see if you could get rid of the 4wd throttle limits as you promised Alex. Apparently you haven’t and then get all pissy because people are upset that you haven’t delivered what you promised before they handed you $500.

He may be very knowledgeable about Tundras. I do not doubt it. But he isn't about tuning.

I implemented exactly what I said I did. I removed the throttle limits for 4WD in 1rst by raising the limit tables to the maximum.

Just because you or he *thinks* I didn't do that doesn't mean I didn't.

Once again this entire thing revolves around to the simple idea. Alex simply will not email us like we ask.
Why do I have to learn that he has gears and tires from this thread?
or that he has Tow Haul issues from this thread?

    He won't communicate with us.

If he is getting issues or throttle limits in 4WD still, what a freaking surprise because he won't tell me! Which is where this has been from february!

But he will definitely come here and complain.

If what they paid for is a beta tune that's still in development, then OVTune has delivered as promised. It's not possible to "give them what they want" if what they want is something that doesn't exist. Giving the customer what they want is a good business goal, but it's not always possible. If you walk into Walmart and take a shit on the floor, the manager isn't going to come over and thank you because "the customer is always right".

Here is me on Gold mtn on factory tune, 0:22 sec mark I have the pedal floored:

    https://youtu.be/Y7RG0mF9UWo

Here is me the other week on OV Tune, same obstacle. Same thing, floored accelerator at 0:16 sec, no power. I had to let it roll back a little so I can a little momentum in order to crest the rock on my rear wheel:

here is me wishing you would just send this stuff to our zendesk so we can appropriately look into it, discuss and test things and communicate with you directly.

You know if you just simply said
Hey mat I tested 4wd this weekend and I am still seeing some throttle issues, check out these videos and let me know what we can do..."

So, as a guy who honestly will still likely buy your product in the future, and as a fellow veteran/IT guy, I do have to point out something.

I understand ZenDesk (or whatever helpdesk suite is used) is ALWAYS the primary way to file issues....though I have also communicated with individuals via email on particular issues after filing said issue.

With that said, you mentioned previously that ZenDesk was the way to go. I get the idea that major issues probably need to be filed via ZenDesk, and minor quibbles can be adjusted via an email, but this can lend itself to confusion.

WalMart is a global multi-billion dollar company...hardly apples to apples here. Problem comes into play when your communication style is less compliant and/or you have self-imposed deadlines that come and go without giving the customer...what they want.

everything is to our zendesk. I don't have an outside email. When you message zendesk it gets allocated to your ticket so we have the whole chain and can look through it at any time.

Dude I learned your truck had gears and tires from this thread, not our zendesk.
Just like I am now learning you have Tow haul shifting issues and 4WD issues.

Next thing I'll probably find out you put a supercharger on it from this thread if we continue down this path. Seriously. Take a step back and look. We are both in the wrong in one way or another. I am in the wrong with how I am talking to you, my customer. You are in the wrong by not communicating with us the way we ask, and getting mad that you don't have the product you have, which you would have, or be closer to having, if you could do what I asked back in February. It's irrelevant of the July time frame because we have always said if you have issues with anything let us know right away, as a general statement to everyone. Now I'm certain you are going to claim I never said this. So this will never end.

These last few pages have been enlightening to new and old customers. It is an issue we continue to have with only a small % of our customers, but it takes up a lot of our time. When we cannot get our customers to communicate with us on a 1:1 level through our zendesk we cannot properly handle their situation.

I have this same problem with a very select few of tacoma owners. They do this exact same thing. They blow up on the tacoma forum, get mad, make claims our product is the worst ever, etc.
But in reality all they needed was a little bit of individual 1:1 time with us to sort their issues. And when they got that they were happy.

And that is all I freaking ask for, the forum is a general place to talk development. NOT individual customer problems. If you can't follow that procedure you will have a bad time.

Now, I really have to go and get prepared to do this last round of testing on our Tundra. Contrary what the very small minority wants people to believe, we truly care a lot about our product and go to great lengths to test. I'm not going on vacation and I don't do 10 hour drives for fun.

@OVTune will those of us that didn't receive updates last week be seeing anything before the July timeframe? I sent my logs and some basic info to zendesk in March, but never received a response. I'm not looking for the latest shifting features just improvements for the base tune at this point.

This is f*cking awesome. You may have addressed this in your current tune/development process, but are you able to make it so the gear that you are currently in carries over from D to S whenever you switch?

Yes, we still are working to get the last few updated.
This is actually the #1 request from tacoma guys when switching to S mode. I've been trying but can't figure out how yet

The gear drop "acceleration mode" or whatever sounds BADASS.

My previous weekend warrior had a tune that would drop 2 (if rpms/mph etc were within limits) and man, it made driving that car SO much more fun.

Matt, are you towing the 16' SC Tundra? Excited for the updates!

Great. I literally just got back about 30 mins ago.
tested some changes to our transmission tune which we will be releasing to everyone in July.
We have made a separate optimal transmission torque table directly for direct shift, since sometimes the shifts can be a little rough at low rpm.

and final MPG, overall best achieved was 20.1 mpg (mpg screen).
No matter what I try I can't get better than 20 mpg out of this truck with the Harrop.
    (75-80mph)

I also plan to strap it to the dyno this weekend and get some numbers with our harrop setup, our new dual fuel pump setup, and the smaller harrop pulleys

We have a fuel system I've been working on for quite a while now so we can support some actual Ethanol mix tuning on these superchargers, and we have a drop- in 640LPH in tank fuel pump upgrade
