Man, I might be a dumb 22 year old, but...

That is a little harsh. @BubbaW was offering you an option. No need for name calling.

At the end of the day, it is your truck, and your choice on how you "clean up" your mess.

I will be totally honest. I have some mechanical ability, but once you throw me into the "Auto Repair" universe, I'm lost.

I lean heavily on the wisdom that is here, and am trying not to ask too many dumb questions. Luckily for me there are fantastic members here such as @BubbaW, @Professional Hand Model, @Darkness, @empty_lord, and others here whom I respect, and ask questions.

Granted my brain tells me that I am merely "bothering" them, but that is besides the point.

TL/DR= No need for name calling. Ask your questions, move along, and stay on topic.

No one likes a "rambler" like me.

Rant over, carry on carrying on.

If you pulled the valve cover you could then unscrew the spark plug tubes as well and get good access to the threads. Probably beyond what you should do if you messed up this far.

Or call people trying to help you do what you want to do a dumbass. Up to you kid.

The spark plug tubes don’t unscrew on the v8s they’re pressed in with sealer

I understand the few beers into the night thing totally, but... I'm not the one to say "My bad" to.

    Best of luck.

Is there something he could use to spray down the tubes that would burn off without issue?

Maybe gas? Or something similar that could help clean things up??

Maybe run a 9” tool down in there and ream it out. Might hurt a bit, but no pain no gain. :D

Run it hard on the freeway at high RPM for a while. Allegedly burns off crap from the valves.

First time I went to Texas my boss and I tuned the hell out of a Dodge Challenger. We left it in second gear for a few freeway runs from city to city because we didnt believe it had 305 horsepower. I still remember the smell of trans fluid when we got from DFW airport to Twin Peaks in Plano.

Ah, the ole Italian tune up. A new phrase for me.

Shortly after I got my drivers license I "tuned" my tundra. Before me it had never been over 55-60 mph for about 10 years.

Long story short, there was a few times after a hard run on the interstate that I would take it easy on the road home. Park in the usual spot, and shut her down for the night.

    Truck sat all night.

The next morning on "Start-up" huge plumes of blue smoke from the exhaust. I was worried, but at the time I didn't know enough to know better. This happened a few times. Definitely cleaned everything up.

    Runs like a top now.

    Back to "isolation."

Trying not to bog down anymore threads.

Many years back a buddy of mine drove his grandma's 80's Thunderbird and I was in a friends '83 Tercel hatch. We decided to race to the liquor store and that Thunderbird (being 20 years old) had never hit full throttle. Going up a hill it passed us and coated us in a cloud of rust! We laughed all the way to the store but the car seemed to run better after that.

Sounds like a fun time for sure :rofl:

Before my speeding tickets I was trying to run it wide open (tops out about 97-ish) once a month.

I'm fine with 75 on the parkway now.

Since we've completely derailed this thread I'll add mine. In high school I had an 03 Maxima with a rare 6 speed manual transmission. For a heavy sedan, it would haul ass. I'm thankful I didn't kill myself. Same motor they put in the 350Z. Anyways, I had a classmate that wanted to race me in his 90 something POS Saturn. Naturally, it doesn't end well for him. We pull over at a gas station and his motor had developed a horrible rod knock as a result of pushing it too hard during the race. I laughed so hard. He wasn't amused. He had a different car the next time I saw him.

I am aware. I must take after you. At least when it comes to brakes...

I don't seem to do too bad on interior trim though. I am not a pro. Just a dude.

    I take full responsibility.

I'll go back to "isolation." Working on keeping my fingers still.

    I'm sorry.
