    Searched to no avail....

I have a 2016 Platinum 2WD 85,000 miles. I just got it late last year. Suspension is too squishy for me. I came from a 1997 F250, that thing rode like a truck. The Tundra ride is too luxurious. I have added a TRD rear sway bar and a Sequoia front sway bar.

Bilstein 5100s are pretty popular. Are they stiffer than my stock 85,000 mile suspension? I wont be going off road. I will periodically be towing a trailer, maybe 3,000 pounds total weight.

Any other shocks I should consider?

Bilstein 5100s are good budget shocks and struts, you can also level the front of the truck with them. Have you considered going from a P to LT tire? That would also make a difference

I just put on 5100’s on my 2011. The truck only had 29k. I thought it road very trucky compared to my old 1994 F150, which felt bouncy like a bus (it likely should have had new shocks installed).

I now have LT275/70R18 tires and new 5100. The ride is stiff and you feel the road but very controlled in my opinion. I like it.

maybe your 85k shocks are just a bit worn.

5100 are a little stiffer at stock height and go up incrementally the higher lift setting you set them at because of control arm geometry and preload.

I didn’t mean to indicate overly stiff. The ride is firm and truck like but that’s what I want and think it should be. The Bilsteins seem to manage the bumps better with less bounce which feels more control.

The 5100 ride in the Sequoia is pretty close to stock. Not sure you're gonna get the rigid ride you want out of them

Toyota uses 2 different shocks for the Tundra - the black ones are (I've heard) pretty soft and plush. The yellow shocks that come with the TRD package are much more firm than the black ones.

The 5100s will be an upgrade to both. You will see the greatest difference if upgrading from the black shocks.

Thanks for the replies. I will go with the Bilstein 5100s and get LT tires when the current ones wear out.

What if I want to lower the front 2” and 4” in the rear. Then what’s my best option for ride and stability, I’m planning on installing a rear sway bar soon.

Ok I’ve measured and my passenger side measured at the top of the fender well to ground was 1” higher? Front and rear. Maybe the previous guy was overweight? The seat is pretty crushed. That’s on “the list”
Anyways ,what if I did something like the Beltek 4100. Just throwing it out there I know nothing on Lowering. My last F250 was lifted 6” with 33”s
OH MY!,,, gosh just checked the website for SOSperformance
    Thanks Bro!

My 2016 has 90k on it and I just put 5100s on my truck 2 weeks ago. I set the fronts on the middle setting (1.57" lift). The ride is firmer but it takes bumps way better than the stock black ones

Do you have P (stock) or LT tires?
