Trying to figure out what size inlet I should order. The flared end of our stock pipes makes it difficult.

Plan is to cut the flared portion off and install a black tip. Does anyone know what size the pipe is after you cut the flare off? Thinking I will probably need a tip with a 2.75"-3" inlet, but would like to know for sure.

OD is just under 2.75" for the main exhaust.

The bigger flared end is 3 3/8" OD

Sweet, thanks a lot Brian! Sounds like a little cutting and a bolt-on tip with a 2.75" inlet and about a 4" outlet will work for me.

Now just need to get down there before I order and look to see about how long I will need it to be.

I was thinking if I end up going with a BAMuffler I would want to go with a nice exhaust tip. I like the idea of everything all black, if I go that route, I think that is what I will do.

    You better post up pics!!

Will do, check out this video. This guy wen't with all black, and even though the tailpipe is a different shade than the tip, I think it looks pretty sharp. This is the video that sold me on the 7" system.

No problem man, it's one of the better videos I have seen on the BA exhaust. Asked the guy what he used on it and he hit the tailpipe with some flat black VHT flameproof header paint. Thinking about doing the same to mine. Wish I could find a spare tailpipe to mess with that way I can have everything ready to mount when the BA system arrives.

Yeah it looked good. It's under the truck so it doesn't need to match perfect. I see a lot of stock exhausts for sale on CL. You may get lucky.

Just go ahead and remove the tail pipe section and paint it up. I believe the muffler will be supported enough to stay on without the rear piping.

How did you guys cut the tailpipe? I see there are OEM exhaust tips out there but I want one a little longer so I don't have exhaust residue on the side. Once you cut off the flared end, then we are looking at 2.75 inlet correct?

Do exhaust tips add HP or make a white Tundra go faster?

That is the one that comes on the TSS. I don't mind the looks new but it sure is ugly after it gets some use. I want one that is a little longer so I don't have exhaust residue on the bumper and paint. This is what I just had to scrub off yesterday. I guess the previous owner didn't believe in washing that area. The rest of the truck looks perfect.

Looking again, I think it's because yours is too long. It sticks out past the regular pipe. Is that welded on or bolted on? You're going to need that to poke out about 3 more inches to make it make a significant difference, and by then it would look funny. Anyway, I'm on my second Tundra and I clean them regularly, never had that issue. You might want to run it the way it is for a while to see if your maintenance habits will be sufficient enough to keep that from happening; and save you some coin.

It is bolted on. Hmm I don't know what the issue is but I don't like it haha. Either way I have to get rid of that ugly ass tip. These OEM tips might look great new but not after use. Maybe the black chrome OEM holds up better

What finish is the one that's on there?
Any chance it can be removed and polished back to a nice finish?
I'd cut about 3.5 inches of your OE pipe off and mount it back on, that way you can't see the OE pipe inside, and it recesses back under the bed a little. Driving down the road I doubt exhaust fumes are going to hit the paint. I'm guessing what you're seeing is a lot of paint neglect and idling.

It is this one that comes on the TSS (and I think TRD pro too). The paint comes off as soon as you touch it. I guess I could take it off and hit it with some high temp paint.

    https://trdshop.carlocktoyotaoftupelo.com/p-exhaust-tip-black-tundra-57l-2014--00012t183402

Yeah, I guess this was a fleet vehicle. The rest of the paint/vehicle is in perfect condition which is why I bought it.

Did this size tip end up working for you after you cut it? Will it fit my 2010 pipe if I cut flared end?

For me I ordered a 2.5 and it did not fit. I then tried a 2.75 and that worked.
