Since they're closed until tomorrow and I'm impatient, anyone know roughly how much a notary charges to watch a guy sign a piece of paper?

Ah, that's reasonable. For some reason I thought it would be alot higher.

To get a lawyer to watch was well over $100, glad I got it cleared with the lawyers back in Ontario that a notary was enough. I think the rates are quite variable too, got lucky to find someone who had reasonable rates.

All I need them to do is witness me signing a waiver for my firefighter training course. Literally 2 minutes, in and out.

My neighbour is a laid off HD mechanic and his wife is in insurance. I have no idea about the neighbours on the other side. LOL

Took a drive almost into @Mountun Goat 's territory yesterday, getting as far south as Pierre Grey's Lakes provincial park. It's been almost 2 years since I've gone down Hwy 40 and I forgot how nice it is down there. I'm definitely going to have to burn more fuel this summer and spend some more time exploring.

I gotta say, the parks are super nice with absolutely nobody in them. We had the entire provincial park to ourselves until 1 other couple showed up just before we left. I kinda hope everyone stays home and never visits the parks again. I love not sharing my backcountry areas. :D

Nice! Grande Cache area is unreal. We camped at Pierre Grey’s last year. I like that spot. We actually met friends of ours from GP there as it’s close to halfway.

I want to check out Willmore Wilderness Park. Apparently the hunting there is decent and doesn't get crowded since there's no motorized access. Gotta find hunting spots to get away from typical Albertan redneck truck hunters. LOL

We hiked up to Twin Falls on our way home. The view was awesome. The Woman has pics on her phone, so I'll get her to send them to me and I can post em up.

    Here's some pics:

    A couple from Pierre Grey's:

I wanted to get up to rocky spur on the right, but The Woman didn't feel up to it. The trail is super steep, I was basically on all fours at points. It gets pretty narrow too. Not recommended for those without sure footing or who get nervous with heights. I got about halfway up myself before turning around to rejoin The Woman. Second pic is looking down the valley again from where I turned around.

Very cool. We also, camped with the horses at rock lake last year. Rode the horses into the Wilmore. Well not into, we rode 3 hours one way on trail and didn’t get close to the other side where it opens up. Talking to the local cowboys who ride in, it’s like a two week trip to make it worth it. Take a couple days by horse back to get into ram country apparently. Pretty wild stuff.
Pics are just at the west end of Rock lake. And looking west at the valley. Biiiig country out there.

That's awesome. Apparently horses are the best way to hunt Willmore. I've only been on a horse once in my life so I'm not sure how well that will work for me. :D

Practice makes perfect! Buck up cowboy haha. My wife is the horse one, I just tag along :)

One day I’ll be back in the Willmore proper with a ram tag. One day. Been buying 999’s for like ten years now saving up!

Well, if you count then you're the only person I know who has horses. Haven't exactly had much time around them :p

I really should start buy 999's. I don't think I've ever bought them. I also haven't bought a hunting licence in 6+ years though, so there's that.

Well, if you have zero plans of hunting I can see that. At this point, I’m happy with the small amount tags cost for my personal addition to conservation each year whether I hunt or not. It’s kinda like tax, but you know where the money goes haha

I might start getting back into it this year. I'm not hunting fields from a truck though. Gotta find hike in spots.

With these views you guys are posting, and all of my family being out west showing me this stuff, I wonder if there is any corrolation between people vacationing less when they live in a gorgeous place like that compared to somewhere like the prairies or southern ontario where its (lets face it) pretty boring

We did the Calgary-Waiprous-Sundre drive a few wk ends ago on hwy 40, its a great tour for anyone in the area.
Saw wild horses doing their thing. have heard they are ferrel horses, but I consider humans more of a nuisance then them so to me they are wild.
