Hey guys, I installed some JBA long tubes, and I've done a search and found some on installing the 02 sensor in the primary. Well. I dont have a bung in the primary, it's only in the collector, and the stock 02 sensors wont reach. Wondering what everyone else is doing? Lengthening the wires? Is there other ones you can buy that are longer that fit? Any info would be great. Thanks guys !

I was actually just pondering this myself, as I’m looking to do long tubes. I’m sure there’s a harness extension somewhere out there. Did you run cats or catless?

Catless. For the secondary o2 sensors I just went with foolers. Definitely more concerned about the first o2 sensors as they control the Air fuel ratio

Very cool, I wasnt sure if the Camry plugs were the same as the tundra? Also being in Canada I'll have to try and find another supplier. So I cant be the Guinea pig right away haha

Can you give us more info on these long tubes while you're here? Did you have a shop build mid pipes for you, or did you find some to buy online? How's the truck drive now with LT's.

I had @dirtydeeds build my mids with my stock cats. I’ve had these jba LTs on for about 3 years now and still a top 3 mod for sure.

Good heads up advice from everyone on the wire extender discussion here, as I was pondering this last night. Mufflers/Exhaust systems seem like they should be easy, but the more you dive into them you realize its a lot of work!

This is what I will do if I ever put long tubes on the 2007 5.7L

On second thought, local laws permit that I can run cat-less and since I am not wanting ultimate power gains, that's what I would do.

Full JBA exhaust, from headers to exhaust tip. All stainless. I installed headers and than got a shop to weld the rest. And Its okay? There's a little more I guess? I dont think I would have done it if I didnt already have an exhaust gasket leak (so I had to take stock headers off to replace) and my muffler wasnt rotten (so I figured might as well replace everything).
So i guess I'll see if I cant find some extenders than. Thanks guys !

I had to use extensions that ARH provided when my headers went in. I do not use sims.

I don't think ARH makes anything for 1st generation Tundra.

Why wouldn't it be possible to use the same gauge wiring and splice in an extension?

For you and also for any others who have put long tube headers on any product.........

Do you need to send them out to some place to get the coating done to them?

Some folks say yes. Others like the folks at the header manufacturer place suggest no unless being used in racing type applications.

Just curious what your thoughts were.

    Thanks,
    JT

Email URD Racing. A guy there named Gadget used to carry them I believe. I know on the website they only have them listed for newer vehicles but I think they had first gen in the past.

I just make my own extensions from scrap harnesses I have laying around.

Just make the harness the same pin for pin.

I have already lengthened them, and they worked great for a few weeks. No codes, no check engine light. Unfortunately the headers throw off a ridiculous amount of heat and having the wires ran inside a loom, and even along the top of the transmission untill they needed to come over into the header bung, it still melted the loom and wires inside near the harness. So next step would be getting a heat resistant wire loom. But I was just wondering if I could get already lengthened o2 sensors since I may need to buy new anyways.

And for a 2001 tundra with over 300,000km on it. No, I'm not worried about coating. And I also wasnt worried about night and day gains from putting on headers. It's an old truck. Itll only ever be, what it is. Haha

Can you bolt some heat shield up? Or even wrap the headers/pipe where they run parallel to the wires?

Speaking of which, and since you didn’t bring up the performance aspect until now, did the long tubes provide you with a noticeable gain?
