Wish I could say the same but $450 month for car insurance sucks. And I'm starting to look more at the sc300 project and another jet ski which is about 16k that I'll put insurance on...

I'm only saying this since you shared, but that's a lot of money. When's the last time you shopped around? I always go with a broker because they will shop rates for multiple companies. My wife worked for Travelers and even with her employee discount they were higher than the rates we got using a broker.

We carry more insurance than most people because she learned a lot working in insurance. Even with our high coverage limits I only paid around $180/month when we had 3 vehicles. Everyone is going to pay different rates based on the crazy macro's insurance use, but $5,500/year seems unusually high. Even when we lived in Orlando our rates were about the same as TN.

I’m paying half that for 4 cars. Might be time to shop around

Hand Models have a lower actuarial risk. We pay half of what the face guys pay cuz they get all the gurrls and tend to have more accidents.

I did shop around when I was adding the Tundra (1yr ago). I have 300k/100k with a $250 deductible and unfortunately, my wife "hitting" a pedestrian really hurts...Nothing came of it, but she started to pull out while a 17yr girl was jogging by and "bumped" her. She didn't fall and was ok but because she was a minor my wife called for an ambulance to come to check her out. No money against our account but let the record reflect that it happened.....

I have many "thank you's" from my stay-at-home wife....like my (2) dents in my LS460 and one scuff mark that was technically from my 3yr old daughter but asked my wife to hold her until I had the car seat in the truck...she didn't and my daughter through open the tundra door and hit my car.... <3....no,no, no it doesn't really bother me anymore....nope

I somehow managed to bust the threads loose on one of my tow points. The bolt moves freely up and down and can’t be threaded back out. Any one have that happen? Guessing I’d have to access it through the frame horns.

Alright boys. I’m popping a chub on these. Titanium for better heat resistance.

Should I replace the center exhaust between these new headers and new OEM recently installed muffler, as well? I think I know the answer.

Maybe buy 4 all new o2 sensors (just because)?

Are these ‘the best’ or are there better ones out there? Looking for the best.

I don't know the answers to any of that but I'm curious to find out. Just curious, what made you go for these over long tube headers? I'm torn myself.

Another option is Doug Thorley but I have no idea which is the best. I'm sure someone will be along to let us know.

Edit- American made, lifetime warranty I just learned. :curls:

Reason is, if the center exhaust can be saved, it looks like Short Tubes can bolt right up to the OEM flanges.

Does anyone have the torque spec for the transfer case drain plug. I couldn't find it in the manual.

Also, does the front diff have a crush washer of any sort?

I just torque the transfer by hand feel. Go slow and easy until the plug tightens without much strain and then put an 1/8 twist on it. Its soft aluminum casing so not much torque is needed. If it leaks after a few drives then tweak it another 3/32.

Front diff has no washer that I can remember. You’ll need a short 1’ long pipe breaker bar over your 3/8” ratchet handle to break it loose. Last time I had to use my leg and foot with the breaker bar pipe to free it loose. I didn’t put it on that tight the time prior.

I do not have a 3/8” torque wrench like little Bubbles recommends.

If your going with the JBAs you could do the JBA y pipe.. but honestly you get most gain from the headers.

long tubes are best. but they require more work to fit.

Well shit. I was going to take all my accumulated SHO parts out of my 92(trunk and car completely full) and move them to my gf's garage, and apparently I've looked the keys in it. Car hasn't ran in 11 years, and the hood is open, but the battery, which is super dead, is in the trunk. Great start to the day...

Just saw a similar truck as mine for sale for $11k. No mechanical upgrades. Only thing new is the stereo, LED interiors, and some tires. Loco bro.

I bought your exact truck, down to the color, in 2009, 100% stock with 101k miles, like showroom new with a recent timing belt change for $9k.

These Tundras have been going up in value for sure in the last 5 years.

Well I guess I left the truck unlocked last night......luckily no one else door checked it! Nitrogen tank, vacuum pump and backpack still in there! I live in an ok area, but on a side street that is a vein for shitbags, it really sucks, I mean mug every single one of them that walks or bikes or drives thru.

I feel ya. The house we just sold was the epitome of safe suburbs. Nothing but retired people and some families.

Now we're renting a place downtown and I'm pretty much staying in condition orange. The neighborhood is mostly low income older people but we are close to some rougher hoods. All the neighbors are friendly though. I think I may throw some motion lights up outside just to be safe.

We keep having cars stolen out of driveways in our neighborhood. They haven’t messed with my stuff yet. But I’m pretty sure they know not to mess with anyone on our block. Between us all there’s enough fire power to take down a small country.
