Yeah, I'm headed outside too. I have about 5 acres that desperately needs mowing. And I need to get on my tractor and blow off some steam. This is not good for my blood pressure.

Guys, we're all waiting. But ragging on each other here is about as productive as being at Thanksgiving dinner and bickering with others at the table because it's raining outside. We can't do anything about the weather, but in time it'll come around. Enjoy the things in front of you now and before we know it the sun will be out.

To inject some humor here... you are evidently the *ONLY* service member who has learned this. Server/desktop support for thousands of military/civilians, and by FAR, the military members are the ones who bug me the most. (Though, specifically, it's usually the officers and higher enlisted ranks.)

(And I'm a veteran myself, so I say this with humor; I love what I do, so no hate here. :) )

Maybe it's the Coast Guard...I dunno. It was a whole bunch of hurrying up, just to wait, to then be told at the last minute that it needed to be done yesterday.

Ah OK. I thought you said military....

    :D

I kid. (9 years Navy) I've known more than a few CG guys and girls and to a person they busted their butts! My hat is off to you. Anyways, yeah, was the same in the Navy, then 8 years of Army Reserves, and now DA civilian - it never changes. Except now I can walk away when some officer yells at me. LOL

Oh nice! I remember terminal leave...no better feeling in the world than to know you have sh*tloads of leave and are using it and there's almost NOTHING they can do about it. :) Congratulations on a successful career.

My roommate swapped injectors on his mustang and requested a base tune. He received it next day. Then he data logged and requested a revision, got it that afternoon. Then he found an problem with idle on cold start, emailed and received a fix the next day

I bought this tune last November and I was under the impression that I was buying into a service that was mature and responsive. That is definitely not the case. It's been 6 months and I'm still on a base tune. Yes, I made some changes and had to receive a new base tune. But I sent data logs 3 weeks ago and I don't have have a revision yet...

Mat says new features are coming. He's been saying that for months.

I paid a lot of money for a product/service and telling me to "be patient" is ridiculous. Mat is not in line with industry peers with his time lines

    I'm definitely not happy.

There is a big difference between making a new tune from a software that already has everything fully supported, maps, tables, etc. Making a revision takes like 2-3 minutes. So yes in the case of a mustang, there are software options out there that practically let you tune them with your eyes closed.

SOME people on here have had 10+ revisions to their tunes still asking for more too..

In this case, there is not. And something that I really think a lot of people here is not understanding is that this isn't just a tune that changes maps. I am writing custom code. By hand, in hex. And there are more people than you guys think that have these features already. It is just time consuming, it takes time.
On top of that this COVID crap has totally slowed us down. We are 2 guys and like I mentioned before they closed school the whole year so I have 2 kids at home while trying to work. It is not an excuse, just the current situation.

There is also the situation that I think everyone forgot about or out right ignored. We said we needed time to actually write the code out, and during that time we would not send ANY tune updates.
9 out of 10 people with a tundra completely ignored this and constantly asked for updates. So we couldn't even get that done for all ECUs. I could not get it done because we were ignored when we asked for this courtesy.

Then there is the older ECUs, 07,08,09 with older style code where direct shift and S mode RAM data is not the same.

The tacoma is not taking a front seat to this. They badger us all the time but I don't prioritize them, they are just loud. I am not that active on here as of right now because there are a lot of things we are trying to do in the background with this.

There are NO industry peers with what we are doing. If all we wanted to do was provide you 1 or 2 files and send you on your way then sure, we can do that and you get your file and good luck.
There is not a single other company on this planet right now trying to add exclusive, hand written code features for these trucks. Nobody, none, nada. And actually take a look at big companies, with dozens of engineers, look at their timelines for doing this kind of stuff. It's in the months and years. You think Cobb goes out and buys a 2.3L mustang to support and has all their features a week later? No way, they work on it for months and months and months.

SO, with that being said, we have 3 possible routes we can take.
    1. We can update anyone's current tunes, finish it with what mods you have, and then you will get the additional features *when* they are ready for your unique CAL. This can take weeks, months.
    2. You can wait if you want and have all of it done at once when we have support for the CAL ready.
    3. We update and finish your tune and you don't get the features we worked on.

Regarding the Sequoia guy. Yes we did say we can do it. and we did. But you are without a doubt the worst complainer on this board and our zendesk. I literally post here that "I have your email" and 10 minutes later you email me asking for a freaking update.

The laptop that was used to read your ECU broke. I am trying to get it fixed. OBVIOUSLY we would tell you once we have that done. What good would it do me if I don't tell you?

And if anyone think that vF Tuner is taking precedence, that is also incorrect. We have been working on it for 3+ years. Before we even considered tuning the Tundra.

It's just the fact that the Tundra has SO MANY unique IDs, unlike other toyotas.

We will get it done, as soon as humanly possible to do so.

So, I think the best course of action would be this:
If you need an update. Send us some logs. If you have send us some logs, great. We will wait through the weekend.
Then on monday we will update every person who has sent us anything (logs, update request, etc).

After that, we will not post further updates until all features are ready for all ecus. That means if you send us a log after, you will not get an update until your ECU is ready.

You are not "just on a base tune"

You are on a tune with literally every development we have had done, near when it was done, except for direct shift and S mode gear lock. I don't know why you would say that. You complained to use we didn't put gear ratio tuning in your file literally *days* after we figured out how to do it. Talking to us like we left it out of your tune on purpose or something
And you have it, on top of all other mods for your truck.

I sent you some logs 3 weeks ago. However, I am willing to wait for my revision until you are finished with the new features liek direct shift etc.

whats killing everyone is you saying its coming "soon" but then we never get anything. How about giving us a more solid time table??

Well, I didnt send you logs with the headers before you sent me the latest tune. and ummm, it literally says "BASE" in the tune file name. AND you said to log with this file.

In any case the tune you sent me shifts funny. But like I said, I'll wait for your other features. I dont want to take time away from your development; I want to get this thing finished so I can scratch it off my list and enjoy my truck

They all say "base" or B and the revision is the numbers included "000 001, 002, etc"

Here is a solid time table. The best I can give you guys.
If your ECU is *NOT* older than 2010, - End of July.

This is assuming we do not have to continually push updates at the same time.

I do want everyone to understand that I completely understand delays suck. I am an impatient person myself. This was suppose to be done a long time ago, but me being stuck at home with 2 kids who have to do their school full time online + all of this has really shit on my schedule big time, that is the primary factor everything is delayed, not just Tundra stuff.

Now, for everyone. Please if you need an update for ANY reason, submit a reply to your ticket this weekend. Include logs, include whatever. I will push out one last batch of updates to everyone.

After that it will be no more updates until end of July when we can have the features ready.

So, all arguing aside. I hope this clears up everything and gets us back on track:

IF you need an update for ANY reason, submit a reply to your ticket this weekend. Include logs, include whatever. I will push out one last batch of updates to everyone Monday.

After that it's *update silence* until we get our next phase of features onto all ECUs.

So. Let me make sure I COMPLETELY understand. You already have my logs so no need for me to reply to my ticket again this weekend. You are going to:

Send me another revision using my logs I sent a few weeks ago.

Then I wait until the end of July at which point I will receive another update with new features like direct shift, s mode gear lock etc.

Is that correct?? I dont want any misunderstandings and I will hold you to your end of july promise

    Correct.

And for anyon reading and confused, please read that.
If we don't get logs, update request, etc before Monday 11th, you'll have to wait until July.

Excluding the Sequioa guy, because that is a different situation.

You set the expectations. Yet you cant take being held to them. your response is shut up your the biggest complainer and wait. I didn't set the expectations YOU DID. It takes 4 weeks to fix a laptop yet the others guys file that was on the same failed laptop received his tune the next day. O and you dont have a backup... Seriously you have no idea what its like to be in the customers shoes. Some day your going to run out of excuses or customers. Probably customers before excuses.

    Also,
after we do finalize updates in July, we plan to release 07-19 Tundra Support in vF Tuner. (18 already supported).

If you have our flash kit, you are eligible for vF Tuner upgrade here:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/products/copy-of-vforest-tuner-for-tundra-customers
    (free)

because after those final updates are done everything will be available in vF tuner.

Nobody has got their files next day from that. I don't know what you are even talking about.
