I threw my tow mirrors on about 18 months ago and am pleased with them. I feel like the convex mirror should be a bit taller and the field of view from the passenger side seems like it should be a little larger. I have no regrets and would buy them again.

    Edit: Toyota OE tow mirrors

Had tow mirrors on my 07. Loved them. I totally dislike the small mirrors on my 14. Inadequate. I will be putting tow mirrors on my 14 asap.

Also, if you mention what brand of mirrors you have, that will be helpful. (I have the same questions as OP.)

I put two mirrors on my 2010 a few months after buying and never regretted it.
The look on the truck, in my opinion, is more truck-ish.
I added a small convex mirror in the corner of both of them and can see everything, including the bottom of my trailer’s tires. That makes parking it much easier.

Once I started looking at upgrading to a 3rd gen, I immediately ordered a new set and kept them aside.

The day I bought my 3rd gen, I had them waiting.

How exactly does one identify what type of GM mirror, and then fit them to a Toyota ?

I’m gonna purchase the one from boostautoparts.com. Pretty expensive but I feel like they look better. Has 2 cover that pop
Off so u can color match paint them. also keeps all the features, power, heated, running light and also blind spot.

I haven't upgraded yet, and am not sure that I am going to. I don't tow that often these days.

I did find a set of stick on blind spot mirrors that I really like. Lots of mounting options, and I am still experimenting, but to my thinking, I have space to put two on each mirror.

_| and |_ so I can adjust the main mirror as needed for towing and still see closer to to the truck in traffic and lines/curbs when parking.

    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074V5YH5T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

a very cheap solution that preserves the look and "park-ability" of the factory mirrors...

I have the Trail Ridge mirrors from 1A Auto. I have had them on my 2019 since last May. They look and work as well as when I installed them. I chose them over the oem tow mirrors because I didn't want to lose the BSM. Very satisifed. They definitely provide a good view around the trailer.

Agreed on all points. I like the little bit of zoom on the larger part of the mirrors, it makes the trailer feel a little closer to the truck and makes it easier to judge distance for stuff back there.

I think the convex would really shine if it was a tad bit taller so it could be useful to see what’s next to the truck in addition to helping cornering with a trailer. Just a extra inch or so would be perfect.

I had just put some on this weekend from a buddy that gave them to me from an extra set. It's different, but since I'm lifted now, it helps me see my trailer load better when towing. Before I was lifted it was difficult to see in my trailer anyway (16' tandem 72" wide). It will take a bit of getting used to, but I think I'm going to like them alot! The looks is good too. I love that the side markers are amber LED and has smoked lenses. I think the ones listed below are the ones he gave me. I do like that they telescope out more if needed like with a camper or so, but I don't personally think I'll need them to pull out more than they are now.

    It’s a Goat.
I’ve had eBay tow mirrors for a couple years now. The passenger side main mirror is floppy and both side the led lights are buggered up. I beat my truck and specifically the mirrors off trees pretty consistently so I’m not shocked on the mirror. The led part I’m annoyed of. If I press the lights with my hand they all light up as they’re supposed to. When I let go half go out some half a bright. Shity China junk. Oh well. They get beat up, hense the cheap mirrors.

That being said, after running a set of tow mirrors on many trucks before the goat and the goat, they’re worth every penny. I tow trailers pretty often so to mirrors are needed. When I’m not towing I love the great amount of view to the rear.

Apparently it will take an act of God to get Sumo91 to post what brand his mirrors are :)

Power folding or not is also something that is REALLY good to know.

Not sure of the brand, got them off ebay. I'll try to post a link to them. The also have the tinted lens instead of the yellow. And they are not power fold. But Its not hard to reach through the passenger window to fold them in.

I have an 18 tundra with BSM what will happen if I put on mirrors that say they are compatible up to 17? I'm assuming that either BSM won't work or the truck will explode.

From my research, the truck shouldn't explode. But there is definitely a possibility it will implode, and what makes it worse, is all that hp and tq will cause a black hole, sucking in anything nearby. Best to do it in a safe location, or let a dealership you dont like install them, then watch as their entire lot is left as nothing but a smoldering crater. That'll teach'em........

I added the Toyota OEM tow mirrors. If you feel the stock mirrors are horrible, then the Toyota tow mirrors will be marginally better. I can move both the main mirror and the fish-eye mirror with my wash brush, so I'm having to constantly adjust them. More importantly, the fish-eye mirror is too small and narrow. The fact they extend out makes them more valuable than the stock mirrors, but the vision quality isn't very much better.

The GM mirrors posted above are very similar in dimensions to the tow mirrors I had on my F150. They are amazing...suck a large mirror lets you see all you need to see w/o having to turn your head and look over your shoulder. If someone would make a set that didn't have vibration and durability issues, I'd buy it.

If you have BSM and put mirrors without it the BSM light on the Dash stays on.

HOWEVER all is not lost - there is a LED modification you can do to the sail panel (drill a small hole, and use the wires in the harness that are there for BSM, and the system will work as normal (BSM LED lights up, and the dash light only goes off when some Id-git is in you blind spot)... so no problemo!

Those are their own brand - which means they went to china and found the maker of another mirror and had them sell them directly to them.. aka a knock off. It doesn’t mean the quality is any less, most of the time they are just as good.

    Yes you can do it.
Just tap into the bsm wires on the truck side of the harness and wire in an led.
