2 10w0 and csutom sub box

1 set of hertz cento pro components with brackets and jbl harness for front

    x2 4 gauge wire kit

3 1.5 V8 rcas, amp rack and all screws

I had to order kilmat ( 2 boxes 36 sq ft each) through eBay and the interior removal tools along with 3 pack of roller tools From Amazon to get things here before the equipment.
A couple of questions and will post many pics while doing work:

Anyone have the JL Amp RD 900/5 with two JL 10w0 subs in box

Anyone have the Hertz Cento Pro components in the front and Cento Unos in the rear

I ask the equipment questions because I have never spent this much money on audio equipment without seeing or hearing it first. I trust James 1k % or I wouldn’t have done it just excited and don’t know what to expect.

I did all four door and behind the back seat. I noticed a big difference when I shut my doors they seem not solid. It also improved my Polk Audio components front and rear.

First time using this stuff and it’s pretty neat. I used right at 9 sheets on each back door doing inside skin and outside skin.
I can’t wait to get the equipment installed.

Have to pull the passenger seat again tomorrow because I have no sound at all right now.
Had the switch for amp on signal activating it and so flipped switch to power on and connected the positive power on switch from the the DSR1 and WooHoo it started playing!!

so will get some more pics of the sub etc... tomorrow and try to figure out the Bluetooth settings for DSR1.

A couple of things on the install:
    * when reinstalling door panel and you are installing rods MAKE SURE TO SNAP THEM 2 CLICKS INTO PLACE
    * need insulated really small “fork” style crimp on connectors for your crossovers
    * if you get a double sub push it toward passenger side of truck so larger seat will go up and down( double check both seats go up and down before tightening back seat bolts.
    * get some double sided heavy duty tape or patches of Velcro to attach crossovers to door
    * have a plan for crimping 4 gauge wire connectors
    * you need speaker wire and also more butt connectors if running crossovers
    * EDUCATE YOURSELF on the DSR1 BEFORE you get it, to me that was the most difficult part and I am still learning is how to use the DSR properly.

These are just a few thoughts that come to mind.

I moved my bass knob to a place so it’s out of the way, I didn’t have to open the console and my fingers rest on it naturally.

‘If you put it here you will have to snap in place “shifter surround trim ring” before installing knob.

I bought a very similar system from @james@tech12volts and was very happy with the results. Best bang for the buck I could have hoped for.

I hired out the install and he was able to place the bass knob in one of the switch plates in the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Perfect Bc it’s out of the way but easy to reach when it’s needed!

That’s a great spot for it too, my old lazy ass put it where I moved it too because that is where my fingers hang down when arm is resting on console.
It’s funny because my wife doesn’t know about the bass knob and so I will crank it gradually up or down depending on song and she just listens for a second and then starts jamming.

How did you strip your 4 gauge? I’m gonna use ferrules and heat shrink tubing for the connection to the amp but I’m a bit torn on how I’m gonna strip the wire and not lose have the inner wire during the process.

I carefully used a razor knife and ratcheting crimpers. The Heat shrink tubing is a great idea I have blue and black but nothing for a 4 gauge wire. James supplies insulated ends for all 4 gauge connections to slide on prior to crimping and then you could add tape if you felt the need.
I would have gone the heat shrink route as well if I had some on hand, I love that stuff and used yards of it for all the wiring on my sxs.

Thanks for the tips. I have some 10” cable cutters so I may give it a go with those. I ordered some 3:1 heat shrink tubing on Amazon last night for around $10. I have no idea when I’m actually going to be able to start my install but by the end of the week I should have everything. I should start a build thread just to put out there how someone who really doesn’t know what they are doing, does it.

What is behind the large black metal access panel on the back wall of the cab?
